As most of you are aware, i was demoted one minute before the raid on BWL on sunday, due to my attendance in recent weeks. I had told officers a few weeks ago that i would be working weekends so i wouldnt be available for raiding on the sunday, but that i would be available to raid the tuesdays and the thursdays, which i did do. I spoke to bastet and teaelle about the decision and they told me that they had been thinking about the decision for a while and said that it was awkward that they couldnt tell me weeks or days in advance (god knows what stopped them from doing that). Im online almost every night and in the day at some points, so why couldnt they tell me and demote me then? If the decision hadnt been made by then (although they had been thinking about it for a while) why was it made one minute before the raid, a raid i was prepared for and waiting at BWL, why couldnt they just let me raid.
After having read through the raid rules i came across this...
"If at the end of the review period we see a class need for RG1 then we will ask members not meeting the requirements to either improve their attendance or step down to Defender rank to allow a more commited member to support RG1 properly."
I wasnt asked to improve my attendance (although i was trying to attend all the raids i could), and i wasnt 'asked' to step down as guardian to defender, i was just demoted, and ill say again, 1 minute before the raid.
Also....
"We do not wish to recruit heavily or at all to fill gaps, we believe we have enough members to meet our two raid groups' requirements, but we need the support of members to achieve these goals."
As i was demoted, two new rogues to the guild were invited to the raid (obviously not meaning any offence to those rogues, as they are nice people) but i feel i should have at least been given the chance to attend that raid, due to the fact of the lack of notice for my demotion.
Due to raids i have missed because i have been at work, i have missed out on a lot of dkp and items i have wanted, so ive tried to attend al the raids i can to try and save up for those items i wanted. The raid on sunday dropped 2 bloodfang items, both of which would have been mine, bought with the dkp ive been saving up over the months to get them.
As you will all see im rather annoyed by the way i was treated, and still dont see the reasoning behind it, and the reasons teaelle gave saying "it was an awkward time for us and it just had to be done."
I didnt want to leave SoG, it is the best guild i have been in and are good friends with everyone in there, differences aside. But due to my gear i am useless if not raiding, so i feel i had to leave to find another guild so i can make use of my character again, although not wanting to.
