Found a few trojans, but the software I've got can't clean them from the file. Sadly it's not the parite trojan.

Are the files c:\windows\mssys.exe and c:\windows\system\svcpack.exe essential for Windows or can I just delete the files?

I've also got what I think are Steam problems. Whenever I start up the computer, Windows says there was an error checking the Windows registry and it has to restart to fix it. Which is annoying, but manageable.

The reason I blame Steam for this is that when I try to load it I get the following error:

None of my other programs appear to be malfunctioing and I have no viri on my system. Do I need to reinstall or can I fix it by deleting the .blob file or some other solution?

I'm not entirely certain what an auto-sniper is. Is that T's Krieg and the Aug or the D3/AU1 (or whatever it's called.)

I don't know why, but the Uk joke involving weasels for no good reason somehow seems to make it more amusing.

On local radio, the police were saying they didn't want the law. As far as they were concerned, if necessary they could charge people under previous legislation (driving without due care and attention) and the new bit of legislation just takes up their time.

Also, whilst it's legal to make a call in the car with the engine off, it's illegal to do so whilst the engine is on. Which means that this winter when a motorway gets a huge jam, somebody'll switch off their engine and phone to say they'll be late home, then find their engine doesn't start.

Is one of those the googlewhack? I've got the occasional one, normally when I have a lesson in the computer room and the work has no inherent value.

One other question. I've checked everywhere I can think of and can't find my SteamID. Where do I find that?

I joined this forum and got the server password about a year ago, but since I was on a 56k, was terrible at Counterstrike and was having problems downloading updates, I've never actually played on the server.

I recently got broadband and whilst I'm still terrible at Counterstrike, the other problems no longer apply.

Aside from saying hi, I'd also like to ask how easy it is to play on the server if I'm not using voice communication.

The worrying thing is I know people who'd write metaphors like that. Then again, in my last English essay I put lots of random messages like 'blood blood blood blood' 'Beelzebub, Lord of Evil' and 'during the Cultural Revolution, War, Death, Famine and Pestilence stalk the earth and the Antichrist leads the forces of evil against the armies of heaven at Armageddon' then crossed them out, just to irritate my teacher. It rather disrupts the rhythm of a sentence when you have a 5 line lunatic rant crossed out in the middle of it.

Not having played CS for a couple of months, I wasn't aware of the existence of v1.0.0.5 until yesterday. So I asked a friend who had it to burn me a copy. So he burnt me a copy of his cstrike folder.
I copied it in, only to discover that he had the downloaded version and I had the retail version and this meant that CS just generally didn't work as it should.

Any tips for what to do? I've tried uninstalling, but I lose a lot of vital files which my friend's disc didn't seem to involve. Anybody have any suggestions?

Also, could you try not to use techno-jargon? I'm unbelievably ignorant in that area.
