Hi guys.
I've been playing for a short week now and could use some pointers.

1)Okay, what are the best weapon unlocks? Yesterday I had my first weaponunlock available and what do you suggest is the best. I like to play the helpfull hand in the game so what is your advice?

2)What is the best way to parachute from a small building? Yesterday I saw someone jump of a 1 level high building with a parachute. Sometimes I'm just crashing down to earth from buildings that are 2 levels high. :dummy: I hit space to jump, press 9 as fast as possible and :Geronimeeeee....splat....and you can scrap my body of the street in comicstyle action.

3)As a SquadLeader. How can you give orders to your squad, like advance here, defend there.

4)Sniping, where do you guys aim? Sometimes it needs me 4 bullets to kill someone. Last night I got 1 shot 1 kill shots and it went well and I got my first sniperbadge.

These are the first few, maybe lateron a few more questions.

1. Unlocks, choose the class you play most, most unlocks are kinda pointless. The medic is pretty neat though.

2. Repeatedly press 9 (as you are) usually at the top of your jump.

3. There are to methods. Use the command rose with the "T" key i think? where you mouse pointer is looking is where you'll drop arty, suplies etc.

The second method is hit the Caps key i think? Same key you use when commander. It takes you into a topdown map view, you can right click on the map and place commands such as "move here", "place mines" etc.

Ok the keys to bring up the modes maybe wrong but the methods are valid.

Ehrm, wasn't repeatedly pressing 9 also loosing your parachute? Or was this fixed in a later version?

you do have to stop pressing 9 once it's open ... persnoally I've never managed to accidentally close/cut the chute ;) try halo type jumps where you open your chute v.close to the ground :) can be difficult off walls as you do have to fall a certain distance (without touching anything) before the chute works...

as for the unlocks there's lots of discussion out there, but at a glance I'd guess the m95 sniper rifle is the biggest improvement over the base weapon. Other than that the medic rifle is supposed to be nice, but as was said above, unlock the class you like to play most... :)

There's a thread on this too. Aim for the chest/head. I don't think there's any bullet-time in the physics for the sniper rifle, though when my ping isn't good I find leading a moving target helps. Essentially try to resist pulling the trigger until you have a shot at a stationary target - prone players facing you are the easiest headshots ;) also, allow your aim to "settle" - pause a moment before firing. A bit like in CS where you had "dynamic" sights but without any on-screen movement or indicator.

Unlocks: I have now all the unlocks apart from the Support (on my ranked login) - I find the most useful the DO12 shotgun as I like to play Ant-Tank - it just gives me a better chance of surviving close-in fights. (The Jackhammer for Engineer is useful for the same reason).

Despite ulocking the mighty G3 in Assault - I use the ordinary assault rifle because I like the grenade launcher...

The only other unlock I find occassionally useful is the .50cal sniper rifle...Nice for sniping chopper pilots!

..................

Parachute: it should be a double tap on the 9 key. But sometimes it seems to make it's own mind up - I still go splat sometimes!

..................

When Squad Leader I tend to give orders in combination with the map - so I right click on the map and lay down objectives, etc. But mostly I use the comms to assign orders - it's quicker.

..................

Sniping: Remember that aside from sneaky shooting the best thing about being a sniper is spotting for your squad/team - also remember to use your claymores. There are two good ways to use your claymores:

1) Personal defence - if sniping on top of a hill or tall building protect your rear by laying down a claymore behind you or at the top of a ladder...

2) Booby trap a flag: If you get the chance to take a flag, but there are enemy still around, place a couple of claymores around thier flag and then move away to a hidey hole nearby...When the flag neutralizes they will come looking for you - the first place they will check is the flag and BOOM! You have a victim!

Finally, playing sniper when you are Commander/Squad leader is quite good as you can stand back from the action a little way and direct your men using your powerful zoom - you can also spot and take out enemy trying to flank your squad. And by standing back from the action you creat a safe spawn spot for your guys so they don't spawn right in the middle of the action (bad!).
...................

Hope this helps.
