I know UT2007 is soon to be released...But I am interested in the 2004 version (because there is usually a overlap time when the older game still the more popular for a while after a new version has been released.)

Anyone here play UT2004?

I must admit that I like a bit of UT2k4 now and then. Though I mainly play it at the LANs as a bit of light relief.
I've not tried playing it online but the single player is quite fun and there are always the bots to play with/against. I like some of the new modes and the graphics are good and it plays well.
I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Love this game, always good for a blast, the action is soooo frantic. Makes CS and BF2 seem very slow by comparison

:withstupid:
very very quick, good for a break at lans, and good as a single player "I feel like shooting something but cba to go online" game. Got some interesting modes and mods. I try to avoid purchasing ut games though as I don't really play them more than a few times a year, though that's more than some other titles (looks at dusty DoW CDs...)

Cheers guys - that's on my shopping list for pay day this month then...

UT2004 and Call of Duty 2!

(DO they still do a 'Twin Valleys' map for 2004? I used to love that map on the original UT!)

:)

Amazing!

I got my copy...Wow, love the graphics and the maps are amazing...

Great for a quick frag session to get rid of stress!

One thing I like - which was an unexpected bonus - is that the latest patch/update gives you a 'no cd' facility...So now I have the game on both my PCs for the price of one CD!

The new vehicles s a bit of a gimmick I think - didn't really like this...But the rest is fantastic.

We should all have this loaded for the next LAN!

I love ut2k4, though I haven't played it in a while (there's some annoying stuttering but on this computer as it loads textures).

I found after a while it got old playing against bots (my connection sucked back when I played ut2k4 a bunch), but there's a great mutator I found called Mapmixer that lets you randomise maps and game types and makes it so you can sit in front of UT for hours and hours without getting bored. I heartily recommend it, even though it's a bit of a pain to get set up.

I've got a copy for LAN's

It's ok

Hippy

Also got a copy, its alright i suppose.

Played a bit more this weekend (as I - and some ofthers - experienced so many problems with BF2/SF this weekend)...

Was nice to see some of the original UT maps updated in UT2004!

The only major disappointment was that there is no updated version of my (and many othere peoples') favourite CTF map ~ 'Twin Valleys'.

:(

As I say - UT is a 'short term fix', I couldn't play it all evening as I do with BF2.

I really do find it gets rid of stress in short burts though! And can be very funny...

I still get a buzz when I get 'M-m-m-Mega Kill!' LOL
