I saw WHSmiths had the same yesterday..Makes you wonder what they usual cut is..

Stops you wondering why places like Easynews do such a roaring trade. I know it's off topic, but what would you happily pay for a game? I reckon £15-20 is ok, £40 which appears to be the benchmark is ridiculous IMHO....I know I know, developer costs, but hang on...

/stumbles off to do some maths.

So figures appear hard to come by (funny that), but here's an example.
QuoteWednesday 10 November 2004/... ELSPA has announced today that GTA: San Andreas has become the fastest selling video game of all time, smashing all previous records and selling a staggering one million units in the UK after a mere nine days on sale, according to official ELSPA figures, sourced from Chart-Track.

So, 1,000,000 units at a conservative £30 (it was £39.99 on release and there weren't many offers about). So applying some Ninja Freak maths to it, that's £30 million quid. Is that what it costs nowadays to re-write and existing game with some new graphics, a new'ish plot and some playtesting?

Just plain wrong in my opinion.
