Cadaver

The incremental patch downloaded via Xfire overnight.  So I installed it and had a cheeky round early this morning.

Quick first impressions (from a ranked pubbie round, played as MEC on Karkand):
  • The Support guns I tried (RPK & PKM) are very accurate now (possibly even a little too accurate).  These make them the suppression weapon they should have been all along.  No shooting at the ground/sky/walls around a target anymore, only to have them laugh and blow you away.  A prone Support guy must now be given ample respect and flanked accordingly.
  • MEC sniper rifle (Dragunov SVD) seems to have been tweaked to be just as accurate as the USMC M24 was before.  Whether the Chinese sniper rifle has been tweaked up, and the M24 made even more accurate, I've yet to find out.
  • Tad more of a delay in going to/from prone, but doesn't detract from the game in any way.
  • Grenades can now be chucked a hell of a long way.  A bit too far IMHO.
  • Didn't really notice the new arming distance on the grenade launcher, and wasn't able to bounce the shots (obviously need more practice).
  • Visible UAV is pretty funky.
  • Shock-paddle continual recharge is great, as you can revive then switch to your rifle, without having to wait for the paddles to reload beforehand.
All in all, not bad.  I didn't notice much bunny-hopping going on, and those that did couldn't shoot anyway - so that's a bonus.  Quite a lot of people playing as Support and Sniper.  Hopefully this is just down to players trying out the class adjustments at the moment.

Looking forward to trying a different map and see what 's been done to the aircraft and AA. :)

Anyone have other experiences of it?

Haven't played yet but read a forum.
Mines can be cleared only by engineers and can't be shot by tanks. It seems that claymores also are enemy-only (so if a teamm8 runs over it he wont get killed).
Also remember you can pick up your C4packs and so again by pressing "G"!

Ah yes.  The server config defaults to having friendly fire off for claymores (think it might also be the case for AT mines).  We'll have to address that, but may have to wait for a new version of BF2CC.

I thought DICE had dropped the 'G' to retrieve Mines/C4/Claymores feature from the patch as it wasn't working right?

Edit: Apparently sv.friendlyFireWithMines needs to be set to '1' in ServerSettings.con to allow FF on mines.  I don't think our current version of BF2CC does this.

You can place mines and claymores now and your teamm8s don't die (unless they are to close to the explosion).
Must say that the AntiAircraftthing works really well now, about time!
Not being able to throw medpacks further is a bit anoying but atleast the C4throwing is gone!!

Oh yeah, there's still bunnyhopping (in RL):
