Advice on New MB install on existsing OS install

Guys,

I'm about to go into installing the new MB in the next day or so.

I have a hopefully quick question on the install process side of things.

Should I be going into Safe Mode and uninstalling all of the old MB drivers before I take out the old board? I know that I have to install all the new MB drivers but I wasn't sure if by not uninstalling the old ones that there wouldn't be a conflict of sorts.

back up all old stuff

wipe OS,

reinstall OS on with new mobo, me not doing this caused me a whole world of grief at the last lan!

I've just realised that maybe my witty retort above was a bit premature as your question could be with regard to the instructions I posted so just in case I'll try to cover my embarrassment:

No, you shouldn't have to uninstall old drivers other than setting the IDE driver to standard IDE (this means you should be able to get to your CD during boot if needed)

I also highly recommend formatting and re-installing your OS. you'll have no end of problems until you do

Well... So far so good..

BB's advice was superb as when I went back into safe mode it did exactly what he said it would, re-detect all of the hardware.

Once I flashed the Bios all I had to do to overclock was to set it to "aggressive" and I'm back where I was with my LP DFII. SWEET.
