Real codecs

Not wanting to have RealPlayer on my system, I dloaded the Real Alternative Codecs. They however don't support streamed files, so I still can't get things off of the Beeb. Any ideas anyone?

edit - can't you change your media preferences to use windows media instead of real from the bbc? I can...
edit2 - use the "change how I see or hear this" link when you've got a bbc streaming video window thing open?

Hmm, yeah, it seems like that. Basically none of my browser plug-ins are working. Tried WMP, WMP Classic Quicktime etc. All poo. WMP won't stream stuff due to connection issues with Uni proxy server, which the IT dept have been rubbish at sorting out.
