How about an 'adult' section

Having read VV's thread and his pulled joke.

What about having an 'adult' section which is passworded and which could contain any 'iffy' material. Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not talking about anything illegal but it may serve a two-fold purpose:

Firstly - ANYTHING which isn't deemed as worksafe could be posted there which would prevent some poor misunfortunate to acciuentally getting his P45 by clicking on a wrong thread and secondly it would mean that it would be kept away from potentially younger people accessing it.

I guess if it was setup and then those who are so inclined request a password for access to it. (If this involves admin work then I don't mind doing it if that would help).

They did something similar at AFK (federation of Kings) for those of you who used to frequent it and play AoK.

I thinking of things like adult jokes and content such as the painted body flags etc which was posted - it could be for anything which may not comfortably site elsewhere.

We don't endorse homophobia, racism, illegal pornography and other such vices and that would be made clear - any such postings would be removed and the poster warned.

What do you think?

Good idea or bad idea PEN and STFU?

Can't see it being a goer TBH Pen ... the "forum police" (as they are quaintly known ) would consider any thread that would be deemed dodgey/ iffy better off deleted than just removed to a different area so it could still be interpretted in whatever way it was removed for in the first place .....
I really was not born to work ALL my life !!!!!

Adult section eh, can i come? :D

Some jokes/pics that serve a funny purpose, but wouldnt mean the same without nakedness / an "unpleasant" comment should have its own forum or atleast "allow" it with a NSFW tag on it's title.

I don't see a need for this Pen...after all, you can get that sort of stuff anywhere else.

I like this forum just the way it is...and if you have anything friuty to post, then do it the age old way, with a link and a warning8)

My baby boy Toxteth gets here occasionaly and I'd hate to think he'd be corrupted by your pervy posts:tongue:

Certainly if I am the "forum police" then that will happen. Sorry, but part of my job as an admin is to ensure that there isn't anything on the forums that would get the dMw community in trouble. I may not be able to do much else at present but I'll not allow something to harm dMw.

I think you misunderstand my intent Blunt. I wasn't suggesting that we have a thread for the dedicated posting of adult material, more that if anyone has a joke etc which may not be suitable for younger eyes then it can be posted out of harms way.

I have to say that some of the stuff that's gets posted in open forums is of a very dubious nature and could well cause offence. More often than not it's picked up by admin but sometimes it hangs around for a while.

And you comment about Tox is exactly right. I'm certainly not advocating 'pervy posts' as you put it and I was really thinking about jokes, satiric scripts etc.

Again, I'm not adovcating that sort of thing BB. Doubly so anything that is illegal.

Anyway I thought it was worth a mention and, Like Duvel says, a link and a warning should suffice - that's fine.

This only really occured to me when I was debating whether or not to post the link to the 'new slant to casual fridays' link in the laugh section.

I wasn't sure whether or not I should post it or not - whether anyone would take offence. I know it was fairly innocuous but you never know.

No one took offence at it I guess - in it was you 3 ( blunt, Duv & BB )  who responded there!

Is that the right way to post things such as that then? with a warning and link?

What about a standard warning on top of the post?

EDIT: LOL! Just saw Pens edited post.:lmfao:
Not to point and laugh but it seems we're thinking the same thing.
Add a tag to the post that it may contain some nasty stuff.

Yup, spot on! If what is at the end of a link isn't "work/wife safe" then post that it isn't safe. However, if what is at the end of a link is extremely dubious then the admin might remove the link (or the whole post) however, this will be for the best of reasons :)

OK - glad we got that out of the way

Now kindly move along from here and adjourn to the Laugh section where I'm going to start posting

Cheers
