FW: Lucian reguarding Shadowelf

After a discussion with Lucian, I asked him to type it out for me so I could fill you guys in.
 

Ok, a little background to begin with. The hunters in SoG are great - good spirit, and great relationships amongst them. As typical example of this, loot distribution is very cooperative - each drop is discussed and people decide who should get it

Tonight in MC, Shadowelf joined the raid as a soldier. No problems there, he's a well equipped hunter who could help the raid out, and as other soldiers clearly found out, he had the right to get loot.

When the epic cloak dropped from Ragnaros a brief discussion took place in hunter channel, and it was agreed Woodywarrior would roll for it. Shadowelf did not take part in this discussion.

When the loot was distributed it went to Shadowelf who clearly had whispered without discussing it with the other hunters.

I want to make this clear: this PM is not a criticism of the looter or the looting - if a soldier was not meant to get it as apparently Bastet stated to Woody, so be it.

My complaint comes from Shadowelf's behaviour in rolling for the cloak at all (as recently demoted guildmember, a soldier, and a guest in an RG1 raid) and his response immediately after.

When he joined hunter channel, and was questioned on his whisper, this was what he had to say:

'damit (sic) I have in the guild from the begining (sic) and raids from the begining (sic) and worked my way to Ragnaros with RG1 but downgraded to soldier because I was a bit unactive recently.'

Basically: hecfeels he has every right to loot whatever he wants because he's been a longterm member of the guild.

I told him that was unacceptable and after some further discussion he added:

'maybe I can choice (sic) a bit myself and I think there are much biger (sic) "mistakes" which noone ever whined about so be quiet pliz.'

Clearly, he's above the rules, never mind politeness and ettiquette.

To put it briefly, I feel that as a hunter, and member of SoG, Shadowelf tonight decided to take loot for himself at the expense of his fellow guildmembers and class members.

A leopard rarely changes his spots, and for myself, should I ever raid with Shadowelf again, I will never be passing my chance to let him gain loot again. He doesn't have the respect or courtesy that warrants such an act. The other hunters might not feel this strongly, but I do - SoG quite rightly prides itself on his camaderie and spirit, and tonight Shadowelf destroyed both of those.

To that end I feel that some form of punishment is needed, and I hope you will consider this request carefully.

Red the rules , did not see any posting on soliders not getting loot or Guardians having pri on loot ,or that you are requierd to follow lootcouncils in various chanells.
Som might say that not informing the guy above you who is passing for somone below you, that you do not intend to pass is bad sport.(I agree with this, and tell them when I wil be grabbing it)
If this was not the case ,and he was at the topp then there was nothing wrong with it. If it was the case inform Lucian that we agre with him on that it was bad sport and he should have informed the guy abowe him who then vould have taken the drop moest likely.

There should not be any punishing action taken. Just remeber that if you are passing to somone below you that you should get confirmation from the ones between you that they wil hounor your gesture . The lootcouncils in the class channels are not a sanctioned event with power and can be considerd as "  Whisper and other Abuse " . :norty:

From what I heard, this is definently just one side of the story. Lucian, Woodywarrior and the other hunters were just as much in the discussion and had just as harsh words from what I've heard.
