Just wondering about peoples connection to other types of RPG then PC games. Mostly thinking about PnP RPGs but some info about who has played LARP or any other form of RPG is also welcome.

Who plays/has played?
What systems have you played?
What is your favorite system?
Favorite suppliments for a system?
Any systems you would like to try?
Are you playing anything now?
Memorable session/s?

I have been playing PnP RPGs the last 3years mostly D&D. Also played in a Buffy, Hackmaster and Deadlands. I have been a DM for 2years.

D&D is my favorite system since it fits my playstyle of Min/Max with some RP, favorite suplements to D&D would be World largest Dungeon wich i will be running as a DM soon. Even if you don't run the dungeon as a whole it can still be split into 15 "mini" Dungeons that each have there backstory. Other suplements i really like would be Complete Adventurer, Book of Vile Darkness and Evil from AEG.

Systems i would like to try are GURPS, Mutants and Masterminds and Spycraft.

Since the new school year is starting we will be starting with fresh campaigns now. I will most likly be playing in 3campaigns at the start, the one that i will be running(World Largest Dungeon), a D&D campaign that Theodwyn will DM(playing a Bard/Rogue) and then either a Superhero or a Vampire setting though it isn't set right now.

Memorable moments

We were playing Deadlands(Western/Horror setting), Ragnarh is playing a mad scientist that had a quirk that if something bad happend(fumble) the absolute worst thing would happen no matter what.
So we are on a horse drawn carriage with him controlling the wagon when we get attacked, he being who he is picks up a dynamite stick, lights it up and throws. He fumbles the throw and the GM says you drop it into the wagon, then someone corrects him and says that isn't the worst thing that can happen. The GM thinks a little and then says you drop the dynamite stick into your box of 19 dynamite sticks.
Needless to say we killed our attackers and everyone in the group except for mirianna who had fallen of the carriage when we had noticed the attack.

This is in D&D where i am running a Kalamar Campaign.
The group of 5persons come into a room with a fountain. The first person drinks some water from the fountain and i inform him that one of his attributes has increased with 2. Now everyone walks to the fountain and drinks and i inform them all that some attribute of theirs has gone up by 1-3.
Now Vargen being the greedy ******* he is, says he takes a second sip, now i ask him to make a fortitude save. He barely fails that save and dies of poisoning.

Luthor

I dont know much about Pen and Paper RPG's but i have played alot of Warhammer Roleplay. that is an PnP game. i liked it alot. still do, i dotn know if we play by the rules or whatever, but im having a good time.

My first encounter with RPGs (if it qualifies) was the free and awful Knight Online.  But it was different enough to get me interested.  WoW came out and I has been my mainstay ever since.  CS, CZ, BF2 and racing sims now sit in the background.

sheepy

I used to do a bit of warhammer quest back in the day.

Even then I used to play as a dwarf

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

I've played the following (but have yet to get up the courage to GM anything):

Tabletop:

Cyberpunk 2nd Edition
Fading Suns
Kult
Unknown Armies
Mutants and Masterminds
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Ed (or was it 3.5. Only tried it one anyway, eurgh. Each to their own, but I really didn't like it. Mebbe it was just the GM wasn't very good).
Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay (WFRP)
Star Wars D20
Call of Cthulhu - Dark Ages
Warcraft, the tabletop RPG (what all the backstory later used for WoW was originally written for I believe)
Human Occupied Landfill (HOL)
Probably a few others i've forgotten about, including 1 or 2 homebrew systems made by various friends.

My favourite system by far is Cyberpunk, it's the only one 1 have the rulebook and suppliments for, but i'm currently not playing it. At the moment i'm in 1 regular game (Fading Suns, in which I play I-can't-believe-it's-not-Han-Solo), and 1 very irregular one (Kult, about once a month when everyone is available, in which I play I-can-t-believe-it's-not-Indiana-Jones. No I don't have a Harrison Ford fetish)

LARP:

I have played -
Stormhaven (a system made by some guys at Lancaster Uni many years ago)
Far Shores (as above, but made much more recently. Was being playtested while I was at uni)
Vampires in Public (kinda like Vampire the Masquerade LARP, but not. Another homebrew from guys at the uni. They actually wrote it to be VTM LARP, then sent it to White Wolf to see if they'd object to us playing it, and WW said "we're just about to release the 'official' VtM LARP, but change all the clan names and the name of the system to something other than those used in actual VtM, and we won't sue you". The main difference being VtM LARP was all rock-paper-scissors to do combat etc and decide who won, whereas VIP uses foam latex LARP weapons and toy guns and such.

I haven't played any of those 3 for some time now, due to time contraints and a lot of the people I knew and liked in the systems leaving the area after finishing uni.

I still play:

Yellow Sign (homebrew Call of Cthulu Horror LARP system, done by 4 or 5 guys and gals up here. Great fun! Really atmospheric, and surprisingly scary)
Lorien Trust (LT) - generic fantasy system, probably the most common and popular in the UK. They have a whole series of regular events, the primary one being the Gathering, held at Locko Park in Spondon, Derby, for 3 or 4 over the August Bank Holiday. I'll be there with my girlfriend later this month.
