Padding

Yesterday i felt we failed miserably as officers. Let me try to elaborate

Pre-Story:

Pretty much from the beginning of the raid, Menedil was a major asshole.... pretty much on collision course with whoever tried to talk with him. Major topic ofcourse being that he felt that we needed to bring more healers into the raid, despite the consequences. Arguably he had a point, but i felt we where right to stand by our decision, and let the party go as we where. I felt that we wiped because we sucked, not because we didnt have enough healers at that particular time.

Then menedil leaves the raid, and frankly at that time it was a blessing. Naturally we couldnt invite voretex or others not-real players into the raid, i think that was obvious

A bit later Menedil realised that he had been an asshole and he told me that in a whisper, and he said he was sorry - and if we felt it was necessary - he would post it out in guild chat.

At that particular time i felt that since he realised his mistake, it was ok to bring him back to the raid. Certain officers didnt certainly not feel this way and was strongly arguing that he should not come in the raid.

Problem:

This is the time where i think we are mistaken. Remember that this game is anonoymous, and you never know how the person sitting behind the player is doing today. He might've lost a relative, had a bad day or worse. Thats where i think that we as officers, should be the bigger man. It costs us nothing to be a bit more nice at times, and if you can forgive a person being an asshole, you are the bigger man and that takes a person with a tremendous surplus. If we dont forgive stupid players sometimes, we are punishing the person, just because we can, and we are acting like spoiled brats, not being able to see past the problems that they actually might have.

I know that some of the other officers, want to "stand their ground bla bla bla" but just think about the consequences. Sometimes i feel that you want to be harsh, just because you can. We all have bad days sometimes and i dont think you are seeing the big picture, only thinking about the particular situation, not the whole.

Anyways this is how i see it.... feel free to comment

Bastet

Maybe, but, if you use that, then they will try all kind of stupid stuff and say sorry, and expect to come back in. considering what he did not beeing able to join raid again was a minor slap on the wrist to confirm that this kind of behaviour isnt acceptable. We cannot help him going off like that and removing all his alts from guild. Tbh i think he was looking for an excuse, since hes been unhappy raiding, just a shame that he choose to go out with a bang instead of asking like ekzete did.

He realised his mistake in beeing an jerk, said he was sorry. We said ok,but you are not getting back into the raid.He said "I am nolonger sorry for beeing a jerk",and left the guild.
I clearly see that I am in the wrong for not alloving him to come back into the raid.He was right in his decission to leave guild when he was mad for him saying  "I'm sorry" was not enugh for us to let him back in.
Say the woord Padding and I'l leave the guild and make room for new morale officer Menedil, since I make mistakes and am not the bigger man I need to be.

There dropped a legandary that I have wanted from the start of raiding in MC , I passed on it because I am not certain I can raid as mutch as I want. And by dooing so in time passed my MT role down. And what realy ****sed me off was the chanting in raid while I was typing my answer for Gorion to have it ,and not one for me. That hurt.

No need to be overly sarcastic. I know what you mean

Gorion has been wanting this from day 1, and people knew that. Personally i wanted to give it to Ragnarh but since he passed it - due to whatever reasons - we gave it to Gorion

Dont take that personally, im sure it wasnt

I have to say I put my foot in it there too Ragnarh, I knew (as Gorion had made it known) tha the wanted it - so I typed in /o that he'd want it.  I didn;t knwo you wanted it and no offence was meant by mentioning Gorion, and it sure as heck doesn't affect who I see as MT1.

As for Menedil, I pretty much agree with Bastet.  If he was truly sorry then he'd sit back and accept a very minor slap on the wrist.  Clearly he was not sorry and from the post he made and discussions I have had with him he was looking for an excuse to throw the toys out of the pram.

Damn shame as I liked the guy and actually thought he had the potential for  being an officer.  Boy did I ever get that wrong.

The squeeky wheel gets the oil.

We should not consider ppl for officer spotts as they tend to go balistic and leave the guild when we do. Captainduplo , bastset.

And as for me geting angry. Nothying ****es me more of then beeing told to turn the other cheek ,cause when somone tells me that I'm usually all out of cheeks.

I don't really get this one. When did we consider Captainduplo as an officer?
