Bump Keying

Sorry if this allready been posted i dont get much time to get online lately mucho overtime. Thought id make people aware. Glad i dont have yale type locks :thumbsdown:

Nope. Haven't seen that before but makes me more determined to remember to use the mortice lock as well as the yale.

A big issue over here atm. The public TV-channel took the initiative and started a debate regarding insurance, because retailer ensurances requires the holders of the ensurance to prove that they have been burglarised - which is only about 20% of the cases that the lock shows signs of bump keying. I hope a solution to this will appear soon!

It is a issue over here to!! I work at a company where we have a locksmith and he tells the costumers that you have to be very lucky to open the cilinder with a bumpey. Thats because the burgaler doesn't now what key-profile you have!! If your neighbourhood is full of yale-locks it would be smart to change the locks of your house. try bump keying out at your neighbours house and find out:flirty: It isn"t easy to do.

I did try it. But it is hard to do when you dont now the profile of the orriginal-key. You can do it to if you wan't. Just go to the neighbours and try it out with your key8) Good luck:norty:
