Actually daggers do more damage until you get BWL one hand swords then the sword spec does more damage. And Bastet you really should try switching from Eviscerate to SnD since SnD scales with equipment while Eviscerate doesn't.

I recomend http://forums.elitistjerks.com/ for some serious talk about what build and setup is the best damage build for raiding. Actually those forums are most likly the best place to go for any theorycraft you want around raiding.

Yeh maybe, but i far prefer daggers/evis over swords and S&D, i could give it a shot though :) i still need to get a nice sword , but either a sword rogue wants them or they refuse to drop when i am arround :P

i meant that SnD with daggers will do more then eviscerate, SnD doesn't  give that much more damage to swords then daggers.

snd affects one thing - white dps.

doesnt matter the weapon type.

infact, a 1 point slice and dice (w/ 3/3 imp s&d) will give more damage than a 4 point eviscerate.

Here is my current build.

it is like: what is this mess? It was just my emidiate response to the patch: I wanted to try somethng new, no way if I`d stick to the same old same old.

What I miss about this build: Seal fate and Improved Ambush ofc.

What I like: DoT! I try to (even if it isnt the best you can do) start with a Garrote, do a BS (if in PVP BG) then rupture and hopefully I`ll get in some DoT poisons and a slowing poison, then I vanish.

This causes some slow, but steady damage on ieg mages etc. it is also ool to use on rogues. Also I think the DoTs isnt affected by the armor rating, so it drains the life out of a warrior also (in both cases). After I regained some or all of my energy, I go in and Cheapshot, hoping for a 3 point opener or a backstab (which should have been a crit AMBUSH if my points would have allowed it) then I have different options to take down the enemy regarding its class.

Ofc, the PvP dagger/sealfate/imp.ambush is quicker, But the dots are nice in soloing too. You can get (rough estimates with 750 AP) per tick:
Garrote: 130
Rupture: 120 ish
5 DoT poisons: 135 or so
total DOT dpTick :385
all of these ticking in while you Slice and dice with daggers.

Ofc, The build I use could have been perfected more, but I was at a loss. And I got what I aimed for, a new playingstyle for me.

I have Corehound tooth and Heartseeker as off hand. (Only rogue in RG2 w/o Perd). Never the less I can crit for around 1500 with a fully sundered target in MC. I find myself in the top 3 on dmg meter and am satisfied with my build with adrenaline rush and blade flurry.

For the fun of it I just whispered on Eskhandars main hand and have tried using it with core hound tooth in off hand. I get some fairly nice sinister crits on 600+ when soloing.

Was wondering if anyone could give me the pros and cons of both swords and dagger. Would like to try going swords/fist but am not sure that I will do as much dmg.

The fun thing about rogues, you will see, that the more they have raided and the better gear, they do less dmg, than the newcomers. The green/blue geared newcomers are like "wooot! I`m on top dmg meters, guys" but noone replies... why? because most are afk, reading or watching telly :) it is a fun fact. I think I read somewhere that swords get better than daggers once you get the swords in BWL and so on.
