Remember the strict rules for the handlugage and so.
This is what I got from EasyJet in an email:
- Only 1 piece of handlugage with the max. measurements of 55x40x20cm (including wheels, handles, belts, etc). No fluids or so allowed.

Then I've checked their site and it said: 45x35x16cm.

After that I checked the Department of Transport from the UK, link here: http://www.dft.gov.uk/stellent/groups/dft_about/documents/page/dft_about_612280.hcsp

maximum length of 56 cm, width of 45 cm and depth of 25 cm (including wheels, handles, side pockets etc.).

The solution is to not have hand luggage and bring beer vouchers :)

Bob

Thanks for the heads up DuVel

At least the bag I planned to bring my laptop in would have fitted nicely into those measurements, but now that it's all dead, that won't be something I'd have to worry about anyhow <_<
I'll still bring it though, to carry my keyboard, mouse, cables and other computer stuff in, so it's nice to know that it won't make any trouble.

Thanks D. Mono and I have also been a bit confused about those sizes.

Just use the last one from the link as this is from the Department of Transport. I'll have to make a print out from this aswell when they make a fuss about it at EasyJet.

Also check your airline if they've any interpretations of their own. Print off any restrictions and go with the smallest, then you're covered. Don't leave things to "interpretation" at checkin, double check and be certain.
And ensure all your flights go on my Virgin Flying Club/AAdvantange or United Mileage Plus accounts.

Are they actually allowing you to take things like lappys in hand luggage again now, since the terror scare?

Mal: Define interesting...

Dr Sadako

I fly every week in work and have done so over the last 1.5 years and I have never been asked to actually measure the size of my hand luggage.
I have had my Shuttle (in the bag from Shuttle) as hand luggage to three LANs and there have not been any trouble at all with security.

You shouldn't worry.

Yes, but maybe not on transatlantic flights. Depends on the company. Also you need to remember to have a fresh battery in your laptop if they ask you to start it up.
