Well, it's probably the same kind of situation we had with priests some time ago, there as a lack of hunters in the raids, so the officers decided to recruit more, and then all hunters were able to attend all the raids again... Or something, I wasn't there for a good number of weeks, so I can't be too sure.
This alt brought to you by Torir.

Vargen

We had some hunters inform us that they wouldn't be able to meet required attendance, so we got some to fill the holes as we were struggeling with three hunters in raids on a regular basis. Guess, some situations have changed as we now have full hunters all the time, but at least it is better to have one more then one lacking.

The only way to have a safe spot in the raid each week, is if we had the same 40 people in the raid each week. Since thats not very probable (since noone has 100% attendance), you have to have a certain amount of players in each raid group.

In my opinion, all players should be used to not having a safe place in the raid each week. The raid must continue at all costs, and therefore somebody might have to skip a raid once in a while to make sure the guild progresses

Most classes now have a thread going for anyone that gets bumped and has to sit out a raid.  Most guilds do this a heck of a lot more than we do - of all the top Guilds we have the fewest raiders to make up the raid team, so whilst I hear what you are saying I echo what Vargen said:

We cannot risk not having enough hunters, therefore if attendance is poor and projected to be poor (FMs have more info on this than you) then we recruit to fill the class to ensure sufficient numbers in the raid.

We should all expect to have at least one evening when we get bumped from the raid when too many of your class show up.

Referring to Nipsy's comments, we went through a period where priests were very low attendance, but guaranteed a slot whenever they turned up as we had so few showing up.  We solved this by recruiting more priests which in turn led to more priests deciding to attend on a regular basis as their previously guaranteed-slot-whenever-they-turn-up was no longer guaranteed.  This problem no longer exists and the priests concerned have changed, but that's the general picture.

Vargen and TL cant argue with those comments! And we need to be a core of players that are there every raid so we get the best out of it!:)
Its just a bit frustrating when we are like 7 hunters for a raid and we have managed quite well before with a small grp of hunters, though have SoulB left us  but Tanales is back and soon Lucian will join us again!
But hey thats life and we will survive like always!:narnar:

Nebuoh

well my thoughts... I have to agree with Rata here. We, as hunter class, imho, have not been in shortage during the majority of the raids. 5 of us have always been there, even in the period that Tan wasnt able to join due to hardware problems. Unfortunately SB has resigned his post, but we got Tan back full time and Lucian will be back full force in a while as well.

If it were the case that we have been short on hunters during all of our raids, I can understand the invites perfectly, so I share Rata's thoughts here. No disrepect to any of the new hunters intended.

Since you weren't there, you can check the attendance of hunters in AQ when we were working on Huhuran :flirty: We were 'borrowing' RG2 hunters to be able to have 4-5. And as mentioned earlier we had some hunters letting us know what their expected attendance would be. This made us recruit one more.

We don't want to see people sit out raids. But lets face it, some fights are stupidly dependant on a certain number of hunters, or a 100% hit with tranq.

Zag

Rata, i agree u that if theres 7 hunters online willing to join raid is TOO MANY!!!

Last two weeks ive been in SoG there has been 6 hunters in each raid and thats not bad, 6 out of 7 means u need to be out of raid what around ones in every 2 weeks?? What is 5/6 that is minimum attendance in raids if u read SoG raiding rules....

So, this far... 6 out of 7 havent been that bad but.. today we had only 5/7 that starts to make it annoying. :ranting2:  Nebu, thanks for giving ur spot for me. I met the same situation in my previous guild, only it was more unstable... Best was 11 or 12 hunters compeating for the loot and spot in raid group! But there was no rules to get in to raid so other edge was when there was 2 hunters succesfully pulling boss and 4 adds at same time, so SoG dont have no problems about Hunters in raids atm.

TeaLeaf

It's nice to hear an opinion from someone new to the Guild, so thanks for the feedback Zag.

Our aim is to minimise any down time for any class.  That's why we carry far fewer per class than most other raid groups.  You'll have less competition for slots in a SOG raid than anywhere else.  Each class forum carries a thread about who stepped down last time, just post in there when you skip a raid.  It keeps the rotation going.

The FMs are given more info about expected attendance than others generally have, so we believe that a 7/7 attendance night is unusual and if the projected attendance pans out the way we have been told to expect then should not happen often.

Finally, hunter attendance was previously a problem (as Vargen mentioined above).  We had to cancel several AQ40 raids when we were trying to learn Huhuran due to only 3 hunters turning up.  Many others we had to pull in others from RG2 or even Soldiers to fill the slots and that attendance could not be allowed to continue.  Hopefully we have got the balance about right, I guess time will tell.

Btw, if you are bumped from the raid for class balance you are still registered as attending for our records.
