Well, i smoke and eventho i got air filters you still get small particles in the computer, and when you smoke, the tar makes the small particles stick to the components in a think layer which can impact on heat and so on :) so i clean it often

Quote from: Carr0t;171676Where are you getting your drivers from? Asus, or the official nvidia site? And you used drivers twice in that sentence so it doesn't make total sense. I'm not sure which of the uses is meant to be the one where you meant to use a different word.

Well.... that wasn't a good sentence from me I have to admit that :D
But I men that with the card came a cd that has so called "asus enchanted drivers" and I also tried to install new Nvidias drivers from //www.nvidia.com and those two may have caused the crash.

Certainly you should uninstall any and all current graphics card drivers, then reboot your machine, before trying to install new ones. For the record, i'm using the latest Forceware release (93.71) on a 7800GTX with no problems.

I suggest using the program driver cleaner to completely remove any old drivers, using the uninstall utility you some times end up with old files/registry strings on the computer, driver cleaner also removes these

Got me a Thermaltake Kandalf case (the black one, which unfortunately is sheet steel unlike the aluminium silver one, so it weirgs a ton - well, 18kg, without anything in, but it's solidly built, not a sharp edge in sight, nice and roomy, I love it).
The dust filters in that were in place when i recieved the case, as were 2 silent 120mm fans, and 2 silent 80mm fans :)

the kandalf case is a bit wierdish on the front..

does that circular thingy have any use or just a decor?

Naah, it's just decor, although it does have a blue glow around it if that's your thing (can be turned off). It's a set of doors on the front, but they're removable. It is, in fact, just an Armor case with different doors fitted.

I originally bought it because I watercooled my system, and it said it had holes for cooling pipes etc without the need for messy modification. Unfortunately I didn't realise water cooling pipes come in 2 common sizes: 1/2" and 3/4". The holes were for 1/2, which all of Thermaltake's own W/C stuff is, but I bought a full on Danger Den getup, which used 3/4, so I ended up having to do a lot of modification anyways. Then, after about a year, when part of the system went a bit wonky and needed to be swapped out, I decided that the watercooling had been an interesting, but ultimately more annoying than it was worth, experiment, and ripped out the whole lot. It's now sat on my shelf, as I wonder what to do with it. A mate of mine wanted to use it behind his bar to chill the pipes for the Guinness Extra cold and such.
