i have what is quite a crappy computer these days and was wondering if you know of any things to help with performance other than the usual turn graphics down and stuff as ive done that  :)

i get a whopping 10-15 fps at most times, although i can get that to 40 if i stand in the corner facing a wall, which is fantastic. if you know of any sites that can help please post them, cheers  :)

had to do that :)
I dont hink you'll squeeze a lot more out (but not knowing the spec its hard to say ;) ) but you could try asking lord fondlemaid and goody off've the www.bygames.com forums. I think some of them used to do serious "tweaking" of CS to get that framerate up one more notch, although the game looks rather horrid 8O imo.

You can turn down all the sprites (as well as smoke grens) I think and reduce the graphics stuff like mipmaps until everythings gone square ;) And you've done all the limiting number of shells and decals right?

um, ...apart from that I recommend the top links or trying to get hold of some 2nd hand stuff thats faster. Should be able to find a base-station that'd run cs well for very little (and possibly some free components ;) )
