Internet + Steam Problems

Wireless connection is being really poor, am only getting 24.0 Mbps, signal strength = poor. This shouldn't be happening because yesterday had it at 54.0 Mbps with signal strength = very good.

To top it off steam is wanting to update, fine ok. However it is doing nothing! It simply comes up with the "steam update" box and nothing happens, have to keep canceling it's process. :ranting2:

Have restarted the BT home hub several times, reboot my comp several times etc.

Is there anything i can do to sort this out?

I wanna try to get on CS:S tonight.

sometimes steam doesnt update the bar, but it is going up anyhow

Check under your Steam in windowsexplorer and search for a BLOB file for the registry. (Make sure Steam is turned off). Delete the BLOB file. It will be recreated if you restart Steam.
