Hiya,
You may remember a thread i started re a clan match:

I hope you remember anyway check the link for a refresh if you need it!! Were hoping your still up for it.

First off apologies for the lack of contact over the last few weeks - I've been insanely busy

So maybe we could look to organising this match - on that score we have something of a proposal. We recently were contacted by Xfire (well we approached first with several ideas and they finally responded :narnar:) about doing an xfire sponsored promo event for folding@home..

Im meeting the Xfire people tomorrow or monday to discuss options and wondered whether you wanted to be involved as well. We are looking at something like an 'amateur clan' promo event and are looking for another clan(or 2) for a 'showcase match' or something like that.

As you can see its all in the air atm but it WILL be great fun

What sort of thing would you be up for? The full monty or just a friendly match? Hopefully we can come up with something pretty cool.

I'm definately up for the friendly and will be in contact with Tom to get a better idea of what the "showcase match" would be.

  Here's a recap of the discussion we had on Xfire earlier today.
 
  We're setting up a UK Xfire event for mid April. The exact schedule could be Wednesday April 18th from 18:00 to 23:00 GMT (TBC early next week). The event will gather CS:Source and CoD2 gamers.
 
  The event will be divided in three parts:
  -          18:00 >> 19:00: Live chat with MMMugs and Folding@Home about organized amateur gaming & the folding@home project
  -          19:00 >> 23:00: The unofficial chatter from the live chat remains open in a meet and greet event where Xfire users can meet each other and join or form clans.
  -          19:00 >> 21:00: Public play session with amateurs from MMMugs and pros from TBD teams (4K & Dignitas?)
  -          21:00 >> 23:00: Mix play session with amateurs from MMMugs and pros from TBD team (4K & Dignitas?)
 
  We will create and use several promotional tools such as a website, a newsletter mention and ads for this event. They will be distributed using Xfire's huge reach (6.5+ millions users). We expect that you do the same using your promotional means (website news posts, forums, and any other tool at your disposal), even if the end this event will promote a good cause and we don't really expect to get the same amount of exposure from you as we will provide you with.
 
  It'd be great to have 5 players from MMMugs playing CS:Source and as much as you can playing CoD2.
 
  We'll need to have a dry run of the live chat on the eve of the event to make sure that everything goes well once we're live. Also, could you please send us a high res (.eps or .ai) logo of your team ASAP? Thanks!
 
  One last thing, I would indeed be interested if you could send me the contact information of the folding@home people.
