He never once followed tactics today, complaining of not hearing us on comms but could here us shouting at him...
Teamwounding at start of matches and in an actual match on purpose whilst laughing.
I beleive he went under another name in CIGS and has upset quite a few people within CIGS.

I think Albert may remember a few more problems.

If he is a rogue then we ban him from future competitions.

Albert, can you post a more detailed description of what he did?  It is quite apparent that a strongly worded PM is needed.  I will send one when I have the ammo.

He began fine when in our first match we started as Ts and had to rush everywhere fast to score.
But slowly he started to drift off in the wrong direction to try and get a few easy kills when the CTs had ran past him unawares. The first time he didn't follow orders I was pretty blunt with him spelling out that the match is only 15 mins long and we didn't have time to carry him if he wasn't going to be part of the team.
So for a few extra rounds he kept close to the rest of the team. Then when he spawned with the bomb he ran off frag hunting and we ended up with 4 or us at the site with no bomb and we all got picked off and he faffed around and wasted a minute or two trying to be a hero.
That was the point I told him I would kick him if he did that again.

In the second half (CT) of the next match he started off with emptying a clip into Smite at the beginning of the half and few rounds later he began camping over at the sniper balcony with an AUG or sniper rifle when it was clear that the left rush was the primary tactic for Ts. I gave him a few choice words after that one (f f f f you f f) and he replied with several lines of abuse in team say. After all that he spammed the team with an HE whilst running to defend. He did appologise after things calmed down but he didn't turn up after Rounds 1-3 and we played a man down in the semis and DuVeL subbed for him in the final.

I was guilty of reacting to his stupidity very quickly (and with without mincing my words) but it only takes a few bad rounds to spoil CO matches for the team so I wasn't standing for any crap from anyone. I was pretty fair in that I gave ICE the same level of abuse for not planting the bomb and DuVeL the same treatment for running off the wrong way with the bomb on Museum so nobody missed out if they wouldn't tow the line. I believe even Smite got a few choice words for flashing us all one time although in all fairness, I did the same a few times and made it clear to the team I was a twat.  :D

Below is the pm I sent out post tourney and his reply which I think ends this topic for the time being:

QuoteMate, it was my fault. I will try to explain. I have a 2 week holiday from school and I've been sick all holiday (the whole first week) so I missed xmas and lots of other party's. Yesterday I got sick again!!! So I was kinda pissed and was acting very childish. Add the fact that a friend of mine has demolished my Need For Speed Underground cd's and you can understand why I was pissed. I still had a great time with you guys though I may have ruined it a bit for you because of my annoying behaviour. So my apologies for that.

But like always I love to play at DMW and really had fun yesterday. And we even won!!! That was great...Thanks for the GG's and you did not do anything wrong. You were a great TeamLeader!! Thanks 2 u we won!

QuoteFirstly I'd like to say thanks for playing today and winning the tourney. fantastic job by all.

Secondly, :( sorry, for me being a little highly strung and going mad a few times. I tend to get carried away a bit with matches especially when I know what we have to do to win but I can't get my message across. No fault of yours, I just should have been clearer and more patient.

Anyway, that aside, I look forward to seeing you all on MeatHook or CIGS or DMW USA some time soon and hope I haven't scared anyone off, thanks again and well done.

Cheers,

Albert :D

I received an email from the head of the CIGS community so made the following diplomatic reply:

Subject: problems with strider?

Hello Albert,

Sorry that we only have contact when there is something wrong.

First I hope you had a great Christmas time, and will have a very good newyear celebration.

But now to the point:
I heard some rumours about our member [CIGS]Strider who is accused about misbehaving at your server.
I heard something about swearing, camping, express staying at the spawn, etc.
Can you please tell me what is happend during your christmas matches?
I appriciate your co-operation

Best regards,
Richard

Hi Richard,

Merry Christmas to you to and all the Best for 2004 to you and the CIGS community.

To explain, we had a Christmas tournament on the dMw servers yesterday and it was great fun but we had a few little disagreements. There was nothing that warrants anything like a ban or even you mentioning to Strider about his behaviour. On my part (and dMw) we are used to playing matches where one person is the Squad Leader and calls the shots and the others are expected to follow. Some players who are not used to this take a bit of persuasion to make them stick with the team. I rather abruptly made this point to Strider during one of our matches yesterday, we had a little argument but sorted out our differences and he played very well on my team and we actually won the tournament in the end!

So in my opinion there was no harm done that was not resolved and certainly Strider has behaved very well on dMw since becoming a regular these last few months. I recall Skull being a bit of a rogue on CIGS but he seems to have calmed down a bit now.

If there are any future reasons to question his behaviour on our servers, one of our Head Admins (OldBolke or TeaLeaf) will let you know and you can deal with it how you will.

Strider also sent me a forum message to apologise:
