Quote from: Benny;194098Don't like the long travel waiting, feels like honking across the badlands in Wow, only less interactive.
The one thing I remember from when I had my Eve trail, was that I was using the auto pilot whenever I was going somewhere - just got the route set up and than hit run. That can take some time, as the autopilots always goes out of light speed some 20 miles before the next warp point.
What is much faster, is if you do each jump manyally - e.g. you click on the next warp gate in your route, select approach to 0 miles (or something like that), and than you'll be in range of making the jump directly when you get there.

Just in case you didn't know. It saved me some time, at least :)

But yes, I agree with what you said as well: nice looks, but very complex, questy (now I don't usually mind that - at least not in WoW, as I love the story lines there :flirty:), requires much time etc.

Benny - try X3: Reunion.

I've been trying Eve as well given my love of all things Frontier-ish, but I simply can't commit to another MMO right now.

After scouring lots of reviews and advice, X3 looks like being the closest thing.  Dynamic trading routes, the ability to be a miner/pirate/trader without levelling or grinding, plus you can build your own corporation to automise a lot of trading and manufacturing.

Apparently it's first release was very buggy, but there are a lot of patches that fix those problems, plus there are a lot of community-based mods and expansions available for free to expand the universe.

For a tenner on Amazon you can't go wrong :)
If I wanted you to understand I would have explained it better

Gonna give X3 a go, also I posted elsewhere and got

as a recommendation.

X3 and this both sound good, shame they aren't multiplayer. http://uk.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/galacticcivilizations2/review.html?mode=gsreview

It's installed on my laptop, ready for when I get a minute. I liked the sound of the blog for GalCiv and installed last night, so may try that first.

If I get 5 minutes - selfishly it's my daughters birthday so I may have to do family things ;)
