Guess who's back (almost, got problems and need lil help)

Hey hey, i'm back , well kinda.

The new laptop got in and after windows xp was installed on it, i installed cs:s.

all goes well there, but then when i started cs:s up and changed to the wrong resolution the whole screen flipped. now when i start up css i can't see anything accept a very fague counterstrike icon.

So the problem is i can't play like this, and i can't change it back cuz i can't see what i'm doing. Does anyone of you guys know how to change it back?

hmm, i think i found a way to do it on tweakers net

you can ad -dxlevel70 in advaced lauch options, and it reseted my resolution
(and give more fps)

um...
from the steam games list try right-click CSS, properties, general tab - set launch options. Try:

-xsize 1024 -ysize 768

...or something like that?


Maybe this:

-w 1024 -gl

or just

-w 1024

Same thing happened to a friend of mine a couple years back, but since none of us had any type of know-how about PCs besides just shooting people on 1.6, he simply walked up to his sisters room (her PC had the game installed too) and memorized how often he had to hear it click (the clicky sound when you scroll over "find servers, new game, etc.") untill he was in options and then measured the screen with his fingers (monitors were the same size luckily) to see how far he had to move the cursor to click each icon and set them back. All in all it could be compared to changing your settings with your monitor turned off. Hadn't really thought of that story untill this thread made me remember it and I've just noticed how long, yet probably not very helpful my post has become, so I'll just end this by saying that I hope you have by now managed to fix the whole issue.
