Download this:  WoWAceUpdater

Install it.
Every time you want to update your addons just run it before you start up WoW.
(it will handle all Ace-based addons)

The options I select at the moment are:

F4 - selects all installed addons
then
CTRL-F12 - this updates all the selected addons with externals (ir it updates any dependencies/libraries as well as the addon itself

You can also browse the extensive list of other addons and click them to install when the update runs.  For example if you want BigBrother installed then just click it from the list and it will install it for you next time you run CTRL-F12.

I've used it all this year and non problems to date.  The only thing it does not do is update non-Ave addons, but these are few and far between so is rarely a problem.
