Passwording/Encrypting external HDD

I need to send some files cross country on a flash drive/hdd.

Nothing particularly sensitive but as it's a large multinational company and includes budgets, accounts and media strategies for the next year and the such they want me to use a passworded / encrypted flash drive and courier it (It's too large to send over tinternet).

I have several flash drives but am not sure how to make then password protected / encrypted etc.

There a re several software packages out there - storagecrypt / Truecrypt and Lockngo - anyone tried any of them or found a good solution?

I personally use roboform however this will not be suitable for your needs.

I've done a quick search and came up with this;

There is a trial available so give it a go to see if it's suitable.

Thanks Fellas. I need to get it out today so I'll have a go with that.
The issue with winzip is the time is takes to encrypt and decrypt (I'm talking over a 100GB of stuff when you include the press photos at 36mb a pop).

I use TrueCrypt for my personal info at home and for my work cache of info.  You can choose to encrypt the whole drive, create a container (I usually mask my containers as normal file names), or create a secret volume within a volume (I've only done this in playing with it).

It's very easy to use and there are a few options for setup and usage.

As for speed: I've run an entire XP Vmware session from an image that was within the container with no noticeable hits.

Read about TrueCrypt aswell in a special XP-Magazine.
Should be good and freeware.

How about just WinRar. It's a pretty standard piece of software.

Also this: Camouflage

Hides the file in another file so it can't be seen. If you made up a notepad file, added a load of charcters @~£$ to fill up a page or two and gave it an obscure file extension (or even just a .rar which will appear if opend to be corrupted) no curious investigator would realise it's just a front.

I.e: You have a .txt with your passwords in you want to hide. You attatch it to any other file, say a .exe file for a game you have installed. People looking on your computer will just see the .exe (the file size will be slightly larger) and it'd still run as normal.

Gets more suspicious with hiding large files, which is why I reccomended the smoke screen of making a file nobody would understand.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

Or any other standard zip app, 7zip perhaps, that is free. Can be cracked with brute force but takes very, very long time - especially if the zip contains mixed file types. I would call it more than adequate.
