I have just bought TF and when I try to play it I get stuck with repeating sound in a perpetual loop.
The only option left is for me to turn my PC off at the mains as it has crashed big time :angry:
I run a Radeon X700 SE, is this not powerful enough ? 1024 RAM AMD 64 Processor 3400+ 2.2GHZ

I have just updated the ATI drivers too

Make sure you have the same settings as in CSS.
Must say that I had the same thing but as you might know my comp didn't really improve after that.

X700 should be enough to fire it up, but with no bells and whistles

No problem. Had the same problem before yours.
Best thing I could came up with.
For the rest, our TF2 server or BiG's...
