Bob

Hi everybody :)

It has been a very long time since I last posted anything in here, and I have quite a lot on my mind which I would like to share with you, so it might come out a bit messy and out of order - so please just bear with me on this.

Sometime in October last year, I asked for my forum access to the officers' section to be removed. I had a turbulent semester, with many things happening around my leisure activities, school was very demanding (the last two months was hell) and I also had some other important RL issues requiring my attention (Amongst others - for those of you that don't know already - yes, there was a girl involved. And she is still around, so that has to be a good thing :flirty:). I wasn't all sure at the time, but as the weeks passed, I felt that it was a long needed break.

Over time, things change. At some point, I had an idea that WoW would last for ever, or at least for a very very long time (and to be honest, it has been - almost three continuous years for me now), but now I think that the time for change might have come for me as well. I haven't been logged on since the dMw LAN in November, and to be honest, I haven't missed it at all. What I have missed, is the feeling that I want to play WoW, but whenever I've sat down at my computer, looking at the start icon, it's just not there. Instead, it is a feeling - that I can't describe any better than as - of emptiness.

Especially since my semester ended before Christmas, I have thought a lot about what to do, if I should try to log on and find back that good old feeling or whatever. I have however reached no other conclusion, that the final end has come. On the 13th of February, I have my next pending subscription payment - I have not yet decided what to do about it, but as things seem now, it is probable that I might cancel it. If so, I will not delete any characters or anything that drastic - as one never know when one might feel like returning - but I will remove WoW from my computer and try to distance myself (or just keep the distance I have made during the last months) from the forums etc.

With this said, I see no reason whatsoever to why I should stay listed as an officer of the guild. I would however appreciate if, as a token of gratitude for my long-time service here in SOG, I could be except from the two-month activity rule before getting removed from the guild - so that if I at some point should return, I would have a home to go to.

Other than that, I guess there is nothing more for me to do than wish you all the best of luck with leading SOG forward. I have had some truly great years here, and all the great moments back to my first MC run, through all the other instances in Azeroth, and further into Outland, has been nothing but a great adventure. And I owe all my thanks to all you people who have been around here all the time. (Now I even get a small lump in my throat when writing this...)

It would be nice if I could keep my access here for a bit longer, just so I can respond properly to any comments you might have to this post. I will also make a (hopefully a bit shorter) post about this in the members' section when I get some more spare time to put something down in writing.

With love - sincerely yours
Bob :byesad:

Cheers guys, and thank you for the kind words. I will definitely miss you too :huggy:

As I won't check the form as frequently as before: should you need to get hold of me for any special reason (or any non-special reason for that matter), the easiest and fastest way will be to send me a PM, as I have enabled e-mail notification.

I will continue to keep an eye on you from time to time - and who knows, all out of the sudden, I might even drop by online

And finally, quoting Porky Pig: Th-th-th-that's all folks! :byebye:
