This iPod or that iPod?

I've heard some pretty good things about the iPods and Im thinking about upgrading my old and battery-swallowing MuVo..

So I checked out some prices and found myself to choose from between an iPod Nano 8GB and an iPod Video 30GB..
I don't really see myself needing 30GB and the thought of watching movies on a small screen doesn't really sound as a good idea.. Any one got any experience with that?

After reading the above one would probably think that the choice would be rather easy, but the shop Im looking at is selling the two different iPods with about 100NOk (£8.5) difference in price, so I was wondering why the difference is so little?
Is the video edition not as good when it comes to listening to music? worse sound quality?
If the sound quality is the same, the only reason to go for the Nano would be the size, or?

Im puzzled to be honest

Oh and one other thing.. I can use my muvo as a kind of memory stick to transfer other forms of files, can the iPods be used for that aswell or is it only music/videos that can be transferred?

all i know is you can use all ipods as memory sticks:) .i think you should go for a nano:norty:  because i was watching gadget show once and they tested portable video players and the ipod come 2nd to last:sideways: .i think the psp won that one:g:

Sound quality should be identical, only reason to go for the Nano would be the decreased size (possibly a greater battery life too). And yes, it can be used as a memory stick. When i plug my nano in it just shows up under My Computer as a removable hard drive, as well as being recognised by iTunes.

Not sure why they're so close in price to be honest. Wonder if they are on the UK site too...

I had a Nano (4gb) and now have the 60gb video. I use them mostly in the car with my stereo to save changing cds (ever).
Basically the screen on the ipod video is very nice quality and shows motion well but is very small (same size as the regular sreens). The nano is small and portable.
Of the two I would go for the Nano as when I had that I would take it with me loads and not just in the car. Wheras the video just has become a harddrive for my stereo.
Battery life on the nano is good enough, and 8gb should be enough to fit a decent chunk of the music you listen to most.

If you're after sound quality don't go with apple. They're S/N ratio is (or used to be about) 80dB. Whereas a creative is around 96dB so much better. Having owned losts of mp3 players I would say the best company I've come across is iRiver and the best quality is Creative. Style wise iPods win though, even though they break easily, in my house we've had 4 broken iPods this year.

Also for using as a memory stick iPods are the worst choice along with creative. Best for that would be an iRiver or similar.

The reason why the 8GB is almost the same price as the 30GB, is that the nano is waaay smaller than the video.

I have a 8GB nano myself, and I'm very satisfied with it :thumbsup2:

I have an old 15Gb iPod ... but I tend to use my mobile phone as my music player these days. Only got 1Gb in it at the moment but it's enough for day to day. Price difference is (as stated above) down to size. Just look at laptops ;)

Alright thanks for the input :)
Ill probably go for the nano version, but decided to wait for next month, where Im sure I got money for it.. my computer decided to play tricks on me yesterday evening (again), so I gotta go home and see if it can be fixed with some driver reinstallments or I gotta pay for new motherboard again (would be 3rd since I got the comp 6 months ago :sideways:)..

Regarding the sound quality.. meh.. My musician skills are close to non-existing so I can't hear the difference unless the its very bad.. which was what I wanted to hear if the big one was or not :)

small > big
