 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

Aquilifer

That is truly amazing!

Firstly felines are known not to get voluntarily into water, except tigers and secondly crocodiles are home in water. Leopards are known to be very powerful and capable to pull heavy animals high up to a tree, but still. The reverse case when a croc had been able to catch a leopard must have happened when the leopard had been drinking and was surprised.

you can tell by the pictures that it is a small young croc, if this was an adult, no chance (until someone proves me wrong )

Yeah, but looks still bit longer than the cat. Youth maybe

I Wonder what made the leopard to attack it. Not normal to hunt crocks and a big risk to attack them. Maybe it was hungry, but on the other hand a weak leopard couldn't do it, I think. :g:

Amazing.

However - does the pics not look just a bit fake? :g: Colour, focus etc.

You old cynic you. :flirty: You made me go and have another look. They don't seem to have Photoshop written on them anywhere. I reckon they're genuine. I also think that most cats, large and small are opportunists and the leopard must have fancied it's chances.

*Can you eat the skin of a crocodile? Bit chewy eh? :)

i must admit, i thought the same thing, the animals dont look quite right.. they look abit computer generated:blink:
I'll have to see it to believe it imo

Aww, was hoping it was a video. I'm sure i've seen similar things on the various nature programs. Hyenas are pretty ferocious too.

Google it. :D

QuoteEventually, onlookers were amazed to see the leopard drag the crocodile from the water as the reptile fought back.

I don't see water in any of the pictures.

As for the colours etc, it's probably taken at a fair range with intense lighting conditions which is why everything looks unusual. I don't suspect foul play (not ruling it out though).

I was thinking the same. It could be however that the yellow-green stuff on which they are fighting could be some sort of a shallow pond, which has debris/dirt on the surface so much that it doesn't look like water at all. In one picture which at first looked like a cloud of dust getting up, could be infact a splash of dirty brown water. Anyway the pond cannot be very deep at that point.

It says the croc had been swimming nearby, so presumably it came out for some more Sun lotion and that's when the pussy attacked.
