I cant manage this one at all.
Understeer and oversteer in the same corner (on the same lap!) & collision detection that is appalling. The lightest touch on the wall and pit stop takes 30 secs. Head on crash at 120mph and in and out of pit in 10secs. :ranting2:
Tyres that last 4 laps at best before they do a fine imitation of a ripe tomato.
Door pillars so thick that I'm considering TrackIR
I blame Crazy for his track suggestion :) and on Thursday I'm letting his tyres down and putting a hole in his fuel tank(again) :boxing:

Doorman

Sheesh! What a grouch! :D

TrackIR doesn't help.

I've always liked South City, but FXO is indeed quite a difficult here. At least after the first 20 laps. :) Lets see how it goes on Thursday. I might have some time for practice today.

Toddshooter

I really love this combo:yahoo:

We raced it 2 days ago and I finally got into the 1:55's.
Too bad I can't do the Thursday race:sad:
I'll go sit in a corner and sulk now because life is unfair:angry:
Do you want to be my "Friend"?:winkiss:

Seany

too bad Tod :(, nice one with the 55's though :thumb:

I'm also enjoying this combo a lot, that start finish straight is too much fun :D

Yup. Too bad the rest of the track...

Tryed to make a set which would last bit longer than the 6 laps. Now it lasts almost 7 laps :yahoo: ...and times gone close to 2 mins :sideways:

It was a good race. I had done 1:54:45 in hotlapping mode just before the quali so I hoped to do good in the qualification, but I did not succeed quite as well, but still, the 4th place was good.

For the race I took 47% of fuel, as I always like to take a bit extra. I had not tried any long stints, so I was a bit worried about the tires, but decided to be extra smooth and less aggressive, even if it meant a bit slower, and hoped to gain positions by the time. Surprisingly tires were good through all the race. Inner sides of the front tires occasionally turned red but most often they were at 78c-79c. The clutch was red at some point, so I had to start lifting the throttle more when shifting. It cooled down to orange just in one lap.

At half the race I wondered why I could still see Venca. I thought he must have problems with tires, so I made a plan to maintain my stable pace and to start attacking in the last 10 minutes. At some point before pitstops I did overtake him, but could not maintain the optimal line so he could overtake me after a few corners. Of the last 10 laps in 9 my times were better than his, so I had gotten very close and could try overtaking again in the last lap. I could not do it, but finished just 0.4 seconds after him.

I think it was one of the best races I've done. Perhaps I could have had better speed had I done more practice earlier in the week, but what is most satisfactory is that I felt very confident all the time, despites of quite a risky track, and I dared to drive at the level that I had reached during earlier practice sessions.

Very good Romus. Looks like you are an Alien now.

My race was also good, but I'm sure on a different level. :)

I tried the car on Monday, got a setup from LameDuck but could not get comfortable with it. So I spent some time Tuesday to try to make my own out of Race S. Later Tuesday I was not able to race, and as usual not on Wednesday so i started with very little practice. But during warmup I set a new PB and was happy with the set.
Qually put me on 11. on the grid. After the start I soon found myself racing EarlHaz. I could not get close enough to overtake so we raced close for half the race. My goal was not to take tires so I was trying to be smooth. After Earl pitted he came out behind me and I just had to keep the pace the rest of the race.

Good one. :D

After an indifferent start to this combo with tyres lasting about 3 laps this weeks race was enjoyable:D
Quali went ok and i started 6th.Myself,Sean & Dee had some close racing until Dee hit the wall on the last turn this unsettled sean and i took full advantage and overtook them both.Sean was then pushing hard and all i could see was him in my mirrors until i over shot at T3 and Seany took the place.Dee was then all over me until he pitted at around 30 mins.A few laps later i pitted myself and managed to just get out the pits in front of Dee.I managed to hold the position until i over shoot at T1 and Dee overtook(i thought i was holding him up as he was all over me:g:)
Congrats to Romas and Seany.Another good nights racing:yahoo:

I reduced camber and pumped more pressure for the long race, that's all. Then I tryed to drive slower and not open the throttle much in corners. I hoped I could finish the race without a tyre change and maybe get benefit over others that way. Unfortunately the tactic failed when I hit a wall, I got so much damage my stop took 30 secs plus all the extra I got when limping back to pits. Otherwise it could have worked somehow because I managed to finish w/o tyre change and they never got too hot. Although at one point when I followed Ron, I noticed I got behind in the slow part due to my tyre saving tactic. ...which also showed in times...I didn't do a better lap than 58 something in the long race (iirc). :sideways:

I never liked this combo so much. In hotlap I could do 55s, but in racing if I wanted to finish even the 6 lappers I had to change settings. If I tryed to open throttle in the slow corners it started to understeer like crazy. Pedals would have been great now.

delankster

having not really raced this combo till wed was pleasantly suprised to qualify 3rd :)
Race started well and soon found myself up to 2nd.
But it was short lived .
Had a good battle with romus for a few laps but hit the wall into t4 and then again in t5 !
By the time i got to the pits i was down to 6th and when i got back out on track i was last and 15 sec's down.
Managed to hit a few more walls on my long second stint and guide it home to 9th .
Really challenging race having to nurse tyre's and a damaged front end but one of the most enjoyable i have had on dmr :)
Well done venca and romus
It is better to stay quiet and act the fool, than to say something and remove all doubt

Enjoyable race for me. Arrived late for quali and tried too hard to put in a fast time , I think I started in 6th or 8th?  Had a good dice with Dee and Andy at the start, with Andy making a really good pass on myself and Dee after the last turn.

As he mentioned, he had a close encounter with the wall allowing me to take back the place. Then I caught up with Kev and Deetz who where having a bit of a ding dong.  Kevs difficulties granted me another spot, then I got past Deetz thanks to his new controller :D , Ill savor that pass as I never get to pass you on the long races Deetz .  I'm sure you'll be back up to speed by next thurs.

That got me into forth, next up the line was the Muroc guy who I didn't think I'd be able to catch, but he must of had troubles some where along the way because after the pitstops where over I was ahead of him.

There was no catching Romus and Venca though. Stellar effort by you Romus, excellent bit of driving.  Congrats to both of you :thumbsup2:
