My missus has (with a little bit of help to get started from NvG) made a website for her Karate club.
I told her I'd post it up here to see what you lot thought of it:D
Suggestions for improvements and tweaks are welcome:D

Edit: one of the things she'd like but finds impossible is a pop up title of each photo when you hover the cursor.
Also, the photos are all in 1 folder. if she creates a folder for each photo group to tidy them up and make them easier to find, they don't appear on the website.

Good job

My only observation (not criticism) is that the the right hand menu jumps about a bit as you choose different links (observed in FF not checked with IE)

Thats a nice start :)
I would like to see somekind of a backround image on the site, white one does look like it is under construction, or maybe use some other shade of white ?
And the link text on the right side could be in a box to stand out ?
Just few first thoughs, and I know it is hard I have tried it.
Oh and btw anyone know where could I get some free space to start my own webpage project(Should have started that like two years ago) ? :)

simple, clean and stylish. I like.

Interesting, the karate division in my club (we are a combined club with kobudo, karate and a modern style ju-jitsu) was shotokan-style for years (today they are part of jokokan, ww.jokokan.com).

To get the little popup thingy you need to make sure you have the following inside each tag:

alt="This is a photo of our group" (changing the content between "" to what you want) so you would have something like:

<img src="/images/photo1.jpg" alt="This is a photo of our group">

As for the photos inside each folder, you simply need to change each individual photo to point to the correct place. So taking the above example you might have something like:

"This

EDIT: Just noticed and error in my example code lol

First of all, very nice job on the homepage :)

I'm viewing it with Safari.

The things i noticed were:

- The purple scroll over color of the Links does not match the red/black/white color of the page in general. Perhaps choose a dark grey?
- The pictures looks a bit squished together, especially on the gallery page.(My suggestion is that they're getting resized).
- If you're having trouble finding a nice gallery (i know i have) - perhaps try lightbox or simpleviewer
Im using simpleviewer myself and love it - only bad thing is that you need to make the homepage open the links in a new window to make sure people don't close the page by accident. The upsides are, however, that its easy to use and you can easily sort the pics in categories.

One last thing is: remember to make sure you have the rights to all pictures ! :) (I don't know if you have or not - i just forget that sometimes)

But good job on the home page, and GL with it :)
