After AMD released the AMD Phemon II on the 7th january this year Intel replied that they will lower the prices of the current processors. Why do you ask, Intel is one of the fastest out there. Well true but it seems AMD has got there act together again with the Phemon II. It doesnt kick the bud of INtels quad cores but is pretty close. More interesting though is the price. Its way cheaper then Intel currently. So wanna get the big bang for the money, go check out the new Phemon II.

Intel was kinda in shock and replied with a price drop which was a hughe one. For instances the q9650 dropped about 40% in price. Now thats a lot. .
The next day they annoucent there will be new quad cores released. The made the fabrication better which means they can bake the new processor with a lower TDP. Which means they use less power. The TDP dropped for about 30 Watt.

But the story continues  AMD replied off course to all the news Intel revealed.
They made the annoucment that they will lower the prices aswell.
We gonna get a price war between Intel and AMD on the main stream processors.

Like thats something new :P

But yeah, had the honors of seeing a Phenom II in action last week, and i gotta admit, they really did something good this time..

No the overall performance isnt near the i7 platform (which i find rubbish anyways)
But if you look at bang for the buck, AMD really is a valid option. and with the mix and match system they use now you can get a Phenom II even if you got a older mother board and still use your old DDR2 memory, well then the options there..

Really makes AMD a good choice, especially in the troubled times we live in these days :)

(and btw AMD Phenom II overclocks awsomely! tho has a minor cold bug)
