Well come on, let's hear the reports! I see that there were only 9 finishers. How many starters were there then?

I missed out on this one, unfortunately. My graphics card broke down on me last saturday; I had been having problems with it since thursday evening last week, when I had a number of pc crashes. It's a miracle that I managed to do the whole 1hr race, that night :)

I had been looking forward to this race because I've never really driven the FO8 before. I drove the restricted version on the CTRA server a few times, but it's a whole different car with the restrictions. But oh well, I'm sure we'll drive the FO8 again later this year eh :)

Replay is available. Usual place. :)

There were 12 starters, Cueball and Evan (his son) both raced well till they got disco'd (they're having DSL issues), I raced badly until I flipped my car over a barrier and landed on the other side on my door handles.  No going back there.  Impressed that I found a whole new way to fail at the high speed chicane, so late in the race.  It shows there's always something new to learn. :)

Eisbaer owned the whole thing, I watched him for the last 15 minutes and he raced like a robot, no idea how he got the power down so early and so consistently out of every corner, but he did.

Fun course, but the car's too much for me, I did some training laps in the FBM and it suited me much better. :)

There were only 12 cars on the grid for this eventful race. Core Racing’s Eisbaer was on pole followed by Deeslider, Venca and Somebody.
This time I had checked that the countdown timer was working correctly, but forgot to set it, :doh:so we had a 30 sec countdown, setting off promptly at 2030 GMT. The Polar Bear took off and was never seen again. (He had a 5 second lead by the end of the 1st lap).
As we were completing lap 3 someone noticed that the prick who had organised the race had not changed the race duration from 6 laps to one hour. OldBloke rectified the error, so that we did not have to restart. Thanks mate. :D I was having a nice battle behind Seany & CrazyR1 :boxing:and just in front of Slider46. Concentration went as I was thinking about the cock-up and Slider took full advantage, thanks Steve.
I had dropped back, but by the end of lap5 had managed to squeeze through on braking, only to spin on the icy bit of the final complex of corners.
Steve then had a spin on lap 8 and chose to make his pit stop, so I moved up a place.
We had a newcomer to the one hour race, Evan, the 13 year old son of Cueball who had impressed us all with his ability and maturity.  He was in 6th place and having a storming race until he nicked the kerb coming through the ‘Oval’ chicane and it threw him into the wall causing suspension and tracking damage. :sad:Seany went past him and shortly afterward Crazy Andy did the same. I was gaining on him rapidly and lined up to overtake following the fast right-hander under the bridge when he disappeared. No lag- nothing. Then Cueball disappeared also, with 23 minutes gone, apparently their router packed up. :crying:Bad luck guys.
I pitted at the end of lap 14, spot on the 30 minute mark and noticed with shock that Eisbaer was entering for his stop as I left. So, he had taken about 2 minutes out of my time in 15 laps. ‘Blue Flag’ time imminent. Andy was some 27secs ahead of me but I had managed to stay ahead of Slider46 by 8secs.
Andy then complained about a misfire and lack of power and by lap 18 I had overtaken him and kept the same gap to Slider.
With the fuel load reducing, I managed to put in a PB of 2.04.88 for lap 24. :)This apparently encouraged Seany (who led me by 12 secs) to go for a PB but he overcooked it on the icy bit and spun. Oh dear, how sad what a devil eh? :roflmao:Up to 5th  and a new PB of 2.04.48 as a bonus.:D
It was just a matter of being extra careful for the last few laps and crossing the line with Seany gaining rapidly until the icy bit claimed him again on the last lap. OldBloke, having had no practice whatsoever spent the evening setting PB after PB.
Well done to the polar bear for giving us a stuffing, its not often that you see Venca coming in 71 secs down. DeeSlider was in next, followed by Somebody who was on the pace all week and all those who finished. Commiserations to Cueball and especially to Evan who had an exceptional debut.

Thank you for that interesting read Bob! :)

Nice review Bob :D . Was a enjoyable race, made a couple of slip ups but it felt like an achievement to have finished at all.  Probably one of the best tracks for the F08 I have raced on.  Well done to Eisbaer who went round like he was on rails :) great drive.  Commiserations to Cue ball and son, unlucky with the disco guys.
