It seems that our public Co-Op server is not visible to the great unwashed. Is that a problem? Should we fix it?
I found this, maybe it'll help to resolve this? http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=752866

Extract below.

I do exactly what the little voices tell me to.

PC Specs:- Black box with some fans that go whirrr, a few lights, things inside that get warm, headphones, keyboard (a clicky one), mouse (with buttons and no squeak), disks (2-off SSD and HDD) and a monitor of sufficient proportions.

Benny

I think we should set the difficulty to hard, but other than that agree.

I've been thinking about the request in the change section and frankly couldn't think of a non-sarcastic way of answering. People are asking for an additional server when we aren't filling the ones we have consistently.

How about....

Meatlocker - Private VS
L4D - Public Co-Op
COldStore - Private VS by default but can be switched on request to an admin, ad hoc. (also with non standard maps)

Also about the level switching problem at the end of a campaign.
What are the mapcycle.txt, maplist.txt and missionscycle.txt files set up with? Maybe that is where our problem lies?

Don't we have SourceMod installed?

If you want the plugin installed just let me know but I'd need some help with the mapchanger requirements.

I've added these to the config (with the correct Steam Group).

Nice one Whitey....again.....

As a slight aside.

I'm going to respond to the additional server thread. I think that 3 servers is enough for now. Both versus are rarely full and we can soon fire it over should we need to.

What may be of use is a server side script that we can trigger from HLSW to change the mode to versus/co-op.

Easy enough?

Would it be worth having a script to change Co-Op to expert?
I guess that both scripts would need a server restart so there would need to be a number of config files and we just restart the server using config A, B or C depending on what we want?

Can I also have the moon, lightly fried with some chips?

I'll need to have another play around with this at another time as sn00ks and a few others have jumped on my test server!! (the public) :)

As I understand it we need to be able to restart the campaign using the different modes/difficulty.  Having loads of configs would be fine to change the settings but as soon as the server changes map it will revert back to the defaults in the standard config file.

Having the moon, lightly fried with chips might be an easier option :flirty:
