I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this yet but google image search has changed. You can now further filter your images by the colour. There's a little drop down menu after you've searched for something with a basic selection of colours.
I'm having fun trying to reduce the number of results right down. For example "Polar Bear" with the selection set to Purple only gets  21,700, whereas by default it gets 2.7 million. Seriously reduces the number of pictures you have to search through.

Just thought I'd point it out. Not sure how long it's been there for.

I think its flikr that has done this for a while, its a really good Idea I think, there is also this site http://www.colr.org/

It lets you pick colours from a picture and gives you the html ref. handy for doing your websites :)
