really looking forward to this race, really like the bf1 and since becoming apart of dmr this will be my first chance to race it over an hr :yahoo:
the bf1 is a beast but the open sections of aston historic really give you licence to open her up and its sure gonna be a battle to keep it on the black stuff for over an hr.

fasten your seatbelts this could make for a bumpy ride :flirty:

I'm looking forward to this one as well, despite having hardly practised during the week due to lack of time  The last time we raced the BF1 was not too long ago on WE1R, which was actually quite an enjoyable race. I remember most of us were knackered afterwards.

Personally I think this combo will be easier than Westhill Reversed, though no less of a challenge to keep it on the track. I expect I'll qualify somewhere near the back of the grid, but even so I think I have a fair chance to earn some points as there are usually quite a few people who drop out when racing the BF1 over the course of an hour :)

I think it may be a good idea to make the server private a bit earlier than usual, as the BF1 seems to attract a lot of numpties for some reason :g:

It's going to be crowded then. Room for another wuss?

Turn my back for a minute and you all start wearing pink tutus! Get on the grid where the Harris tweed, pints of warm bitter and the curly pipes are. :sideways: What?!

Well that was a short one for me. My race pretty much ended a few turns into the first lap when I hit the grass, spun, and ended up in a sandbox, unable to get out  I pitted and joined again, coming out right as the leaders were passing the start/finish straight. So I had to continually look out for cars behind me and move out of the way; no fun (now I know what you mean, Ron :)). A few laps later I touched a barrier, which damaged my front left suspension very slightly. I figured it wouldn't do much harm so continued on my way, but found myself struggling to keep it in check every corner, and spinning  regularly. After half a lap of that I decided that all was lost and gave up  I'm really annoyed now because I had been looking forward to this one all week, and now I have nothing else to do all evening :crying: Bah!

Far better to play sandcastles after a few laps rather than pop in after 40 min or so
Never mind, theres now the thrills and spills of the powerful, unfettered BF1 around FE1 for 70 or so laps, loads of blue flags, cursing, repairing, new tyres etc etc.

#9
qualified 4th and decided to go with 2 stops for a faster get of the line
it worked a treat,  by T3 was up into 1st and quickly settled into a rythmn and started to pull out a lead from the pack:blink:
1st pit went well and managed to join back into p3 and was quite happy to settle for that and let moose and Eisbaer fight it out for the win.
a slight mistake on my 2nd pit lost me time but thanks to other peoples mistakes i managed to keep it on the black stuff and guide it home for 2nd :D

a mighty well done to the moose :worship: and unlucky to all those that got stuck in the sand and to andy for his disco

thx guys for some great racing really enjoyed it....

I went down the two stopper road too and it was working great for me. Started 8th, 3rd by lap 3 and stayed around that position most of the time until Eisbaer recovered from his off and caught me.
Then Deetz got me too but as he had 4 million gallons of fuel still onboard, i gave chase and eventualy managed to recover my spot for 3rd as Eisbaer had gone off again.
Wehay... if i could just hold Deetz off for the remaining 5 mins', im in for my first podium. And i reckon with my Doors school of wide loads training and my light fuel load i would manage it too.
30 secs later i put the right rear wheel on the grass and that inturn spun me into the wall. Oddly enough, the only wheel pointing in the direction i wanted to go was the right rear.:ranting:

Although i am really weewee'd off with myself for stuffing it with two laps to go, i still enjoyed the combo alot and the three loads of 60% fuel was well worth doing.
Well done to those at the front and those who finished.

I arrived late, but I quietly made my way to the seat I have reserved in the main stands. Very good viewing it made too. :D I saw Steve bin his car and watched him as he tried to go one way and the car having a completely different idea! :lmfao: Unlucky mate. That is a direct result of the Scawen factor. Steve: "Yay! My first podium!:yahoo:" Scawen: "I think not, sonny :norty:"

Aha. Having never been that close to the front, i didnt know about this Scawen factor. I think i have the PB curse covered and the "65% fuel should be plenty" con :D, and even that a set that does 1.20 for someone will only do 1.24 for me. Are there any more that i should know?:eyebrow:
