Everyone should now be able to "soft delete" a post.  We don't want the hard delete option used in case there are complaints regarding the post and we need to check what was said.  The delete thread option should not be used as moderators should move the thread to compost corner rather than delete it.

If there are still issues then please post a reply in this thread.

I seem to remember that I wasn't able to send the post to the Compost Corner, I didn't have permission to do this. Seems only top dogs, sorry, Mods, can do this?

I think you need to be an administrator to view the posts in Compost Corner however you should be able to send posts to it.

It's a garbage bucket into which we chuck stuff.  Whether we should retain it or just hard delete periodically was under discussion recently in Admin section.  It was originally meant to be a visible sign to users that we actively moderate stuff and a record in case we ever needed any 'evidence'.  For that reason it is visible but not viewable.  Only Admins can view the posts.
