I did notice my Quake files updated recently, on the day that news launched. I don't think it's a hack. I assume you've closed and rebooted steam already? Have you deleted the .blob file?

ive been getting bumped on and off steam network in a insane amount the last few days, might be related but not sure

I had issues with steam yesterday and deleted my blob file and ever since I've been unable to start steam due to the same error :sideways:

deleting blob thingy did it for me :-)

I deleted the new blob file that was created after deleting the first one and then it worked.:g:
