Congrats Venca :yahoo:

Not been on much this week so I qualified, started the race, went around for an hour and finished 6th. Couldn't get past an improving Joe for the first half and gained a place due to Oldie running out of fuel at the end.

If I can remember to do it each week I'll post the combo points table.

:) Glad I'm finally improving.  Had a great time fending you and Oldie off as you tried to get past in a tag team stylee.  Couldn't stop smiling when Oldie said "you are Doorman and I claim my 5 pounds"... then I pitted, worried slightly when only front left was changed even though front right was wearing thin, decided not to worry too much and had a great second half battling with Dee Slider, swapping places back and forth each lap. :)  Great racing.

Surprisingly good race for me considering I practised bugger all during the week. Qualified in 5th, I think.  Gained a spot due to turn 1 shenanigans (nothing to do with me thankfully Oldie :) )  then had slider on my 6' for a fair few laps.  It was like there was elastic between us with the gap varying wildly :).  Drove as carefully as I could to preserve the tires and about half distance or so the tires became optimum and I could bang out a few PBs.  The car was such a joy to drive after a half an hour it makes me wish they could include an option to start on Optimum temp/partially warn tires for the short races.  I know its not realistic, but hell, that's the great thing about a simulator, we can simulate things you can't (or wouldn't normally) do in real life. (hmm that maybe a contradiction :D)

Anyway, I was content with my fourth place and was looking forward to a nice relaxing drive to the line for the last 5 minutes when Cueball comes out of the pits right behind me.  He did have a huge lead on me but they changed all his tires in the stop (I kept same tires for the whole race), which is why I was so surprised to see him.  I managed to hold him off up until he caught some grass on a turn and spun, unlucky mate :/

Congrats to Venca and EasyEd.

Hey, this could be the first time in a long while where we had no Dico's :yahoo:

My 1st race report! Woohoo!
Well I thoroughly enjoyed this combo, tho i struggled earlier on in the week.
Managed to quali 3rd behind Venca and EasyEd, and ran 3rd for 98% of the race.  The car behaved beautifully, and was able to make significant inroads into my pb.
My only real mistake was deciding to pit with 5 mins to go.  As Seany says the tyres really came on about half distance, but pitting that late resulted in a change of all 4 tyres and total stationary time of nearly 20 secs. resulting in me rejoining about 2 secs down on Seany.  I had slightly better grip but the balance wasn't there with the new cold tyres and with only 2 laps to get past I pushed like hell, but on the last lap I touched the grass on the last 4th gear right hander in sector 2 and got in the barriers.  So I limped home with suspension damage.
Congrats to all the finishers especially Venca who drove like a machine setting consecutive fastest sector and laptimes lap after lap.
Well done all.
