Hi All,

I've succumbed to the virus that is Guitar Hero, except I have no console but stumbled across Guitar Hero World Tour for PC in HMV in Manchester last week (Ã,£20 with game and guitar, a bargain really).
Now the wife after throwing the guitar across the room because she can't work it right, notices that you can actually sing along with this game and her interest is renewed but there are no Microphones apparently (easily) findable online that are compatible.

I hear rumours (from forums, mainly from 12 year old console gamers probably who use language like ur and 2 and such like) that the Xbox 360 mic works just fine but I pose the question to the collective brain that is the dMw technology section for advice :woot2:. Also wifi or wired is another tricky choice I am trying to make.

In the meantime I will continue to play my old school style real guitar with strings until such time as I can put it back in its case and press buttons instead of plucking strings.
Cheers, Bert

You need this then you can use this

Confirmed working great on a PC as I use it for VoIP calls on my work PC

Cake: Four large eggs. One cup semi-sweet chocolate chips. Three/four cups butter or margarine. One and two third cups granulated sugar. Two cups all purpose flour. Fish shaped ethyl benzene. Twelve medium geosynthetic membranes. Three tablespoons rhubarb, on fire.

guitarhero itself on the 360 uses a usb microphone so if you can find one of those at a sensible price then it should work on the PC (just like the wired 360 controllers).

Has anyone tried using the wireless guitar controller with a guitar on the pc. It should work but I don't have the PC version (or access to the wireless controllers anymore).
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.

Thanks Guys, I have the wireless guitar controller working with Vista 64. The World Tour game is only 32 bit supported but after lots of faffing I found the only issue was having too many HID USB devices that conflicted with the guitar controller, I disabled them all apart from mouse and keys (probably Saitek wheel causing the issue) and it works a treat.

HMV have some shops selling the game/guitar pack for Ã,£20 right now.

So with a decent PC with plenty grunt, there's nearly no lag and it works great.

Will look into the Mic recommendation thanks.
Cheers, Bert

Apparently the Logitech Vantage USB Mic is the actual rebadged PS3 and Xbox Mic but the game packed one comes with a few more buttons and is sensitive to Star mode activation if you tap the Mic. Ã,£14.99 as opposed to Ã,£40 for the Xbox wifi stuff.
