Where to stay while in AMSTERDAM?

I am due in AMS for a conference between June 7-9.
From there I am due to travel to Hamburg, first thing on the morning, and from what I have checked, a car is the best way.

So, I am looking for a nice (could be very nice) hotel, from which I will be able to relatively easily go to the conference (Wenckebachweg 210, 1096AS, Amsterdam; near Amstel business park); and which will be in close proximity to a Rent a Car (Avis, Sixt, and sort).

Bastion is not recomended.
I know I can Google, but I was asking for a personal recomendation.

I personally never stayed in an Amsterdam hotel but I am sure some of the guys that visited Amsterdam 2 years ago should be able to give you a proper recommendation ^^

Just remember that you're paying top price for a tiny room and won't be too disappointed.

If you're looking for something different then the Botel can be fun. I've stayed in the Gerstekorrel which isn't expensive but quite small - however it's right on DAM Square so perfectly located.
