Tirkad

I just wanted to share with you this experience.
Less than an hour ago i queued up for the random hc, and i got in HC UP. After greeted everyone, i noticed the tank already pulled and was on low hp, so i hurried to heal him to full, noticing it was a harder then usual.
After the first pull, i started buffing people, and, when the tank (Herms from the Psychosomatic Assassins) started pulling the following bunch of mobs, i didn't give him much attention, since i noticed he had 45k hp with my blessing of kings, so i said myself he could last 3 seconds while i finished buffing everyone and myself.
He died in the meanwhile, and i kept up the rogue who tanked untill the mobs were all dead, while the tank told in party chat: "Heal me! Jesus!"
The first thing i thought, was maybe i got something wrong with me, so i checked gear, buffs and debuffs, but everything was in order.
Then i inspected him.
He was "tanking" in fury spec and full pvp gear without 1 (one!!!) extra defense.
So this was our little chat in the party channel:

Herms: HEAL ME!
Herms: Jesus!
Tirkad: Do you mind switching to your tank gear, please?
Herms: What tank gear?
Tirkad: You know, the one with defense on it.
Dps1: He doesn't have it.
Herms: Just heal through, not so hard tbh.

:ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2::ranting2:

Now, struggling to find a way to control my temper, i thought that it would be nice to see if i was actually able to heal him through the instance. So i said:

Tirkad: Ok, i'll carry you. But the next time you whine becouse you die, i'm out.

Herms didn't say one more word, maybe becouse he didn't die, but i'll never be sure.
After 10 mins, a couple of ninja pulls and some dps dieing, we finished the instance, and i got some nice whispers from the dps who really appreciated my healing. :flirty: ^^
As soon as the last item was rolled for, i put Herms on my ignore list, said goodbye to everyone and left.
The only thing that kept me in that group and didn't make me left the group, was the challenge of it.
However, this made me a bit sad, becouse now there isn't much more difference from a dps to a tank it seems, the last just has to have a bit more hp it seems.

Anyway, this was my experience, i honestly hope you will find better tanks than this one (it doesn't take much, really).

Btw, if you will ever want to tank with your alts, but you're afraid to be bullied by some random jerk, just put together a defense capped gear, and i'll be more than happy to join you for the random hc.:D

sheepy

omg omg omg, not def capped and trying to tank thast stupid, I get moaned at for my 28k hp (totally unbuffed) on my DK by some, strange thing is that I have tank thru 1/2 of ULduar on that!

Sheepy appears and begins to stroke my head. According to his slurred drunken speech I am "lovely and like a fuzzy felt". Thankfully he soon leaves and passes out somewhere. [/quote]

Bellanie

also a important note to be added to this is that when wotlk first hit the servers people were tanking heroics with less than 20k hp:D

Aye but being crit immune really helps.

Deminion

I recal being in guild with Herms way back in the start of my playing, and he was some sort of an ass. Now i can't remember if Resilience still provides crit immunity in PVE, or they changed it, otherwise it's gonna get changed. However he doesn't have any dodge, parry or block, just a healthpool, and a constant income of hits. IMO pvp-gear can help you with some nice hp, but it's rubbish otherwise in PVE-content

Padding

Lots of people in random pugs are asses. Remember one shaman in ocolus who was clearly L33T with a big L and he wanted to pull all the time without any mana breaks or anything. Sure we had cool gear and 35k unbuffed mana, but doesnt help anything being an idiot ;)

noevra

Cant remember the last time i did a hc with a tank 2b honest.
Healing dps is pretty easy, and speed up thinks a lot, though, plate helps a bit, i kept up a rogue in uk hc.

No a days HC are a joke really.
So we tent to make it funny again. (btw, mage tanking is not done hehe, i tryed).
