Due to some unfortunate timing (ie finding new work) wrecking his available time, Smilodon is really not about to run this project at the moment which is frustrating the heck out fo him as he had all the time in the world whilst out of work awaiting the vB4 release.  However we do need to push this on one way or another and start to use the new site.

Can I ask you all (you all have full ACP access on the test site) to start editing in the things we want to do with the site please?  We've got some fantastic ideas, some wonderful coders, and a very functional test forum that we are singularly failing to progress towards a release date for the community.  Even though we are all volunteers, we need to do better.

Let's start editing the forum that is there to suit our topics,. our titles.

As importantly, make sure our front page looks the way we want it to look with relevant links for servers (like the coded plugin), the games, the forum topics etc.

PLEASE start using your login ID to help us, otherwise this project will never really get completed.

I have been working through the content pages this morning adding them to the test site.  I have also set up the sections as per the Content threads.

I'll try and get more done as time becomes available.

I've spent a lot of time playing with the stylevars to find out what each of them do.  I'm reasonably confident that if someone can come up with the draft designs using photoshop etc then I can get it to look similar as long as what your doing is within the constraints of VB4.

I've got different schemes setup for the main forum, CoD4 and WoW just to give an idea of the way it can work between forum sections.  I haven't spent ages working on them as I'm sure there are more graphically gifted members in this area.

Once we have the colour scheme(s) defined then it would be nice to have custom banners for each game to match the colours.

That's if we want different schemes for each game...It might look better with a consistent colour scheme through the site with just the banner changing?

Awesome work Whitey, well impressed!

Might be worth playing with different styles per game, but with consitent element running through.  I'd like to think about that versus changing the main logo to match the game as you move around the community's sections.

New style setup for L4D forum as well.  I've gone for a darker theme based on Sea Wolf.

Looks very sweet. I don't think we need big changes between the areas of the site, just enough to show we're in different areas of the forum.

What would be very cool would be to mirror the colour schemes we use in the forum for each of the static sections of the main CMS area. However I have no idea if that is possible
