As its a dual channel chipset I think you may need 2 or 4 sticks for it to run properly, be aware that some motherboards need a tweak to the northbridge voltage to have the ram slots fully populated.

The os is Windows 7 professional 64bit.
About the lack of compatibility, the motherboard is set to work on double channel. I know i'll explain poorly, since i've not understood it clearly myself, but it seems that the multiple channels DIMM must work in duo (double channel) or trio (triple channel) on architecture built ad hoc.
My motherboard DIMM slots are like this (notice the color set of the 4 DIMM slots).
A mother board supporting the triple channel DIMMs have the slots placed like this. This to make it works both on sets of 3 triple channel configurated DIMMs (placed on the green or orange slots) and on sets of 2 double channel configurated DIMMs (placing one on the orange and another one on the closest green slot).
I've checked a bit on the net, and it seems that my configuration does not support the triple channel DIMMs, so there are 2 solutions: use only 2 of the 3 in a forced dual channel setup (the motherboard force it in dual channel by default, and if i've guessed right that's why it gave me those errors: it supposed there were 2 pairs of dual channel DIMMs, so when it tried to use the 4th, it crashed), or use all the 3 in a forced mono channel (and i don't know if it is actually possible to do manually, since it seems it's not going to happen in auto). Both of these solutions waste (in smaller or larger part) the power of the triple channel DIMMs, that's why i was thinking to substitute them with 2 pairs of dual channel DIMMs. However i want to be absolutely sure that this is the problem and i cannot force the 3 of them on a mono channel setup.
There's a problem tho: i don't know if it was this problem to cause the blue screens, so i'll have to wait for the next blue screen to see whether i'm right or wrong(which can make me wait forever if that was the problem :P ).

Edit: i cannot buy just another one of the same (to fill the extra slot and make them work in dual channel mode) since they only sell the DIMMs in trio (for obvious reasons :P).

Say, by any chance were you monitoring your ram usage before the bsod hits?

If your ram somehow is all used up. and there's no pagefile the end result will be a bsod.  Happened to me quite a bit before figuring it out.

Your mobo might also need a firmware update in order to properly support your ram.  If all else fails, try borrowing a set of sticks from a friend and see if the same issue pops up whilst using 3 dimms.  If it does, the culprit would mostly be the mobo.
