We've been banging on about the bandwidth at the Oliver Cromwell for a while now and Pen and I had a tele-conference with little Rob (their IT chap) yesterday.  Bottom line is we'll meet again on the Friday of the LAN to explore the possibility of them getting channel-bonded ADSL.  Currently their one line synchs at just under 900k upload (via Daisy), so 2 lines might get us to a stage where we could game on our hoisted servers too.  Apparently their Draytek can handle channel-bonding, so fingers crossed as FTTC/FTTP or cable are not yet an option in their area.

Early days yet and they are obviously worried by costs, but we're hoping that if we can blow them away with a numbers prediction for LAN XX (with the DMR boost) then we ought to be able to get them to buy another line for us.

Good news TL.

I like the place and would hate to have to leave..

We should ensure that we test this (if at all possible) once it is set up before informing folks of the possibility.

If you need any assistance during the discussions please let me know.

Meeting with the Manager Rob, on the basis that we are going to fill his hotel (50 rooms) for LAN XX then he is organising a second ADSL line so that we will have about 1.8Mbps upload speed (estimated as sufficient to game on our rented internet servers).
