Quick, post so Smite's post disappears. Handbrake is a nice lil' convertor to get things on to your Apple...I'm assuming that's why you need mp4?

Hi-jacking posts is what i do best ;) It's just remarkable that it's still on topic!

It's so i can watch it on my TV via HDD rather than DVD, and I'm sure it can support MP4, but anything that will keep the original quality :)
 Bring on the randomness!
Apparently I actually exist! Or maybe it was the drink?

That's the way forward. I haven't played a DVD or Blu-ray disk in years. Stick it on a harddrive plugged into your TV, or a networked HDD if your TV supports DLNA, or get a DVI->HDMI cable and plug is straight into your PC and play away when ever. Disks are so last decade, and streaming is a couple of years of taking over...this is the short term future.

As for ripping DVDs I used to do lossless ones a while back but it was a 3 stage process and I've long since forgotten. There are probably programs to do it all now.
Juggling Hard Disks over concrete floors ends in tears 5% of the time.
