Watched this today while waiting for car repairs.

I have read all Le Carres books and seen the brilliant TV series a long time ago, so this film had a lot to live up to.

I enjoyed it mostly, but was bothered by the thought "this isn't as good as the series" all the way through.
It really is a difficult book to film, and they haven't done badly, but I can't shake the original from my head.

Lead actors were good but I wasn't impressed by Kathy Burke's Connie...just not good at all.
The 70's atmospherics are supurb, car spotters delight, and I couldn't fault the feel of the film at all.

8/10
