Karkand = Hard Work

Is anyone else finding it hard going?

Third night in a row i've been on from about six trying to get it going and the numbers have never got above 10.  Maps take ages and you spend most of the time running to the next flag trying not to get killed by the attack heli which are almost impossible to shoot down unless you have AA.

I've come off again feeling knackered, BC2 was a far better game where you could have some real good fun with just 4 or 5 of you on the server, with double that number BF3 is just.... well boring.

Our server is plummeting in the rankings, currently it 3485th.

Maybe Karkand would be better on rush, i've not played it on rush yet but at this rate i'm seriously considering a re-install of BC2.

If your the usa side theres 1 way out of the uncap which sucks since you start with NO flags either bin it and make it rush or inf only

I agree with the above, but having said that, we had good fun on Kark lastnight in DeathMatch mode with just a few of us.
In Rush or Conquest the maps all need lots of players to be fun.
The server does seem a bit deserted lately, even before the DLC.

You're right Blunt, DeathMatch was great fun.  A smaller map and no vehicles certainly meant that you had to make the most of cover and high ground gave a real advantage.  It also seemed to be less important that you had lots of unlocks, so far i've only really played Engineer but i switch to Assault so i could give out medi packs.  This meant i had a weapon with no unlocks on it but i was still effective.  Had more fun for in that session than i've had in the past 10 hours.

What we do know is that when we get the server seeded, it flys.

We need to look at seeding groups or planned seeding times. I think that we should introduce the rush maps into the mix and see how it goes.

SDM was a blast last night. I wish we could manage the tickets for each map type but I don't think the RCON tools are there yet. It's a shame as BC2 seemed a much easier game to admin, I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't carry that across.

Let's start off on SDM and then when the server fills up we can switch to the full rotation. Perhaps we should add rush into the mix tonight? TwoBad, can you do the honours? Perhaps move the SDM maps to the top and then mix in the rush / conq maps underneath.

karkand and oman and the other maps always needed lots of players on bf2 aswell, i wouldnt mind seeing karkand inf only mixed with sdm and a little bit of rush thrown in but i dont think thats possible?

Those of you who haven't tried it on Rush, need to! The maps are sooooo much better as rush maps. Also they were quite fun as SQDM.

I'll take a look after lunch.  Do you think we should put the ticket count back to 100% until we find a happy medium?

Map list as follows

TDM Strike At Karkand
TDM Gulf of Oman
TDM Sharqi Peninsula
TDM Wake Island
(1 round each)

Rush Strike At Karkand (2 rounds)
Conquest Large Gulf of Oman (1 round)
Rush Wake Island (2 rounds)
Conquest Large Sharqi Peninsula (1 round)


I've gone with TDM as this supports 24 plays and i think that SDM is only 16.
Because we have TDM in the rotation the slots look like they're limited 24 for all maps so not sure if we can up that on the fly by removing the TDM, Ninja?.

I have left the tickets at 150%.  This will give 150 tickets for each of the TDM which i think is too many for the amout of player we had last night (8 to 10) but as we are hoping for more tonight it should be ok.
