I love F1 and spend a decent amount of time reading about stuff I don't understand to make me feel I have a better understanding of the sport!  So I thought I would share a couple of sites to waste a few hours on:

F1technical.net: http://www.f1technical.net/
The info on this site varies from Sunday newspaper level through to computational areodynamics.  Real gold mine of info if you can search through it to find the gems.

BBC F1: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/
Nothing to technical, but a nice site for general info and updates

Scarbs F1 - http://scarbsf1.wordpress.com/
Real nice blog, good pictures, easy enough to read and very informative.

ESPN F1: http://en.espnf1.com/
Becoming steadily better over time.

Formula1.com: http://www.formula1.com
Decent technical article list but not too much detail

PlanetF1: http://www.planetf1.com/
More news & current affairs in F1 than technical

It's not an exhaustive list, but I most often trawl the top 4 of those sites for my F1 intake.

Enjoy!

I've totally gone off this now as you can only watch 10 races on the BBC, the rest you have to suffer extended highlights a few hours after the race!

That totally sucks and I can see a lot of F1 supporters not bothering to watch so their viewing figures are going to take quite a nosedive.

Quite right, I don't fancy giving Mr Murdoch 50 quid of my hard earned cash every month just so I can watch some of the races.

Sky Sports are a blight, they've screwed over Rugby & Cricket sufficiently enough so now it's time to try and bugger up our F1 coverage. Why isn't anything being done to ensure that 'British' sports (and I include F1 in there, purely because of the number of GB-based teams racing) are available to the masses?

There's a list of sports that it would seem have to be shown on terrestrial television HERE The list is pretty meagre and there seems to be continuous pressure from 'certain' areas to make the list smaller and smaller. Sadly F1 doesn't appear very high up on the list and and other forms of motor sport don't appear at all. I assume it's based on viewing figures.

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.

Those with their fingers firmly in the pie (...especially that nasty, horrible little man) in F1 tend to gravitate towards money rather than the racing so it's not a huge surprise. I will still be watching the races shown on the bbc, following the commentary and all the highlights etc. Hoping for a more even and unpredictable field this year :)

Anyone actually been to read any of those sites or did I start a thread just for the derailment?

I was trying to provide a list of places that I often go to read about F1, Sky was not one of them.  Scarbs in particular I thought people might find interesting and might not have come across before.

Sorry TL, yes I did have a look at the ones I wasn't familiar with, Scarbs and ESPN. However, you have forgotten about this one :) //www.jamesallenonf1.com

It is more a news site than technical, but does have a lot of info as well as reader comments too.
