Any idea why I can't connect to a specific wireless connection?

Hi guys,

My new lap top has been great so far but two issues have come up.

I have recently relocated to another family members to stay for a while while I work in Oxford. My wireless has worked everywhere, in many different houses and public places without any issues but for some reason it wont work here at all. To make it worse the gf's mac connected instantly.

I don't know if it's because of some of the software seems to block other pieces of software. For instance, Skype exe will no longer work (error: Skype executable has corrupted) when I have both Intel and Geforce graphics drivers installed, I remove either and it works fine but nothing with both..

Everything is switched on, nothing different to what I normally do, I can see the connection, I click connect, enter pw, and says possible pw error and asks me to re-enter the pw.

Ideas?

Cheers, Tox.

The only thing I can think of is that someone may have set the router to only accept connections from certain MAC addresses rather than from any device that provides the correct wifi password, and your's isn't on the list. It's an added level of security that someone may have used. Check the router settings or just try to connect directly through an Ethernet cable if you have one. If you can connect through Ethernet then you probable have the MAC restriction set in the router.

Hope it helps

Whatever's gone wrong it's not my fault.
